I knew what Gerard was doing. He wanted to get me out of the pack house, away from my former family. I was thankful for that, but I could handle myself. No matter, we still ended up at the outdoor mall.
After about 30 minutes of my pleading and Gerard's stubborn arm crosses and arguments, I finally dragged him into the only store I wanted to go to.
The werewolf at the counter grinned at me, flashing her lip piercing in the light. She had a bunch of piercings, adorning her tongue, nose, eyebrow, and ears. Her hair shone cotton candy pink in the light, and although I wasn't the girliest girl out there, I knew it just made her cuter. Her face was kind, despite the colored rings decorating her like a Christmas tree. I decided I liked her.
Gerard looked away from her, swallowing.
"Hello!" She chirped cheerfully, paying Gerard no mind. Her eyes raked my face appreciatively, though she looked no further than that. "What can I do for you today?"
Gerard let out a huff.
"I'd like to get a nose piercing," I declared confidently. Gerard groaned and rested his head on my shoulder, face-first. I patted his hair as the girl nodded. She shot Gerard a sympathetic look then guided us to another area of the huge room.
"I'm Verruca, but people gave the the nickname Pierce. Obvious reasons." She grinned at me as she stopped beside a chair, patting it. Gerard gripped my small hand in his fist tightly, and I barely acknowledged the pain because I was so excited.
I sat down in the seat and grinned at Gerard. Despite his hatred of my being in any pain what-so-ever, he managed to get a kick out of my happiness. He gave me a small smile, and no matter how small it was, it made me feel better.
"So what's your name?" Pierce asked as she pulled a tray towards her, sitting down on a stool next to me.
"I have about 3, but we'll just go with Div for now," I smirked when Gerard flinched. Pierce had pulled out a needle that looked pretty sharp, and it freaked him out without even touching my skin.
Gerard had a grimace contorting his face the whole time, and when I accidentally squeaked he let out a moan and pressed his face into my neck.
When Pierce finished, I exchanged phone numbers with her because I absolutely loved my piercing and thought that I could bring Lace here.
"It wasn't that bad, and it's over now, so calm down!" I exclaimed as we left. His face was still a gross shade of white, his eyes miserable.
"It was horrible, still," He replied in a quiet voice, probably remembering my outburst when Pierce impaled my skin.
"Shut up or I'll get a tattoo," I threatened as I walked through the large mall, admiring it's beauty. Gerard tightened his grip unconsciously and very indiscreetly avoided the tattoo shop.
"No, no thank you." He muttered, rubbing his forehead.
"Act your age, sir. Last time I checked, you weren't 50! And if you are-" I paused to think of the right word, "-ew."
"You'll never know," He sent me a wink despite his mood, and I scrunched my nose at him, which hurt, a lot. I stopped scrunching my nose and focused on what he just said. That was disgusting. What if I was mated to a 50 year old disguised as a 22 year old? That would be so gross.
