.Chapter- 7 Her saviour.
Zoya's pov.
I'm frustrated. I can't find a single dress to wear to the event. It's a big event and i dont have anything to wear because I've never been to one such event before.
"We can go and buy one you know?" Nikita said while munching on chips and chilling on my bed while I'm stressing over here.
"I don't think I should go." I said and sighed. I really don't wanna attend the event.
She got up on her knees ready to give me a long prepared speech. "Zoya, I know why you don't want to go but believe me nothing will go wrong this time." She said.
"How can you be so sure? Nothing has ever been right on my birthday." I said and threw the dress back in the closet in frustration.
Yeah, the event is on my birthday. Birthday which I don't celebrate.
"Don't say that." She said sweetly. "Few events cannot describe your birthday as a bad day."
"Yes and those few events includes my mother's death, getting into a deadly accident at the age of 5 and getting my arm and leg fractured or finding out my grandmother have a deadly disease." I said.
I've never liked my birthday. How can I ever like a day my mother died and I survived. So many deaths are related to my birthday.
"Yes but also remember the time when you won the best student award on your birthday or when you came first in designing competition which made you realise your passion. And there are so many good things that happened on the same date." Nikita said.
She is right. I always look into the bad things but the bad things that happened are much bigger than the good things that happened on that date.
"Just go with a positive mind and believe me something good will happen this time." She said.
And I cannot do anything but believe her this time.
"Can you come with me?" I asked even though I know the answer.
"You know I've a photo shoot." She said and went back to munch on her snacks.
"Okay but at least come with me for the shopping." I said feeling tired all of a sudden. Shopping can be tiring.
"Of course I would love to go with you even though you have a better sense of style than me." She said jumping off the bed.
I picked up my handbag and my phone and both of us headed out. We walked downstairs when I saw my step mother standing by the stairs looking at me with disgust. Sometimes I don't understand if she makes that face or her face is like that only.
"Don't you think you should stay back home and do some chores and for once not be a good-for-nothing girl." She said shooting me a disgust look. She then looked at nikita and said. "And also stop hanging out with such girls."
Okay now she have crossed the line, as if saying all these things to me wasn't enough so now she's speaking to Nikita like this.
"Don't you dare speak to her like that." I said loosing my mind.
"Look at the way you are talking." She said. "Mind your tone."
Nikita who was a little behind me came right in front of her face and said.
