"Sir, ha-have some pity on me, please forgive me!!" Hanging upside down from a rod, feet tethered to it with a rope, the guard begged to his master for forgiveness. As soon as Chaudhary reached Bombay, he assembled all of his guards at a nearby construction site for interrogation, which certainly didn't go well as one of them ended up getting a punishment, which included him getting hanged upside down with a rope off the roof of a five storey building. Since, its construction was on hold, no one was around to help him.
He moved his head to look down the building with wide fearful eyes, but when his brain registered the height, a shiver ran down his spine, he joined his hands helplessly to beg again for mercy.
"We tried...We t-tried our best, s-sir but we can't catch her.. Someone tell him something-" wide-eyed, he looked at his fellow guards for help but none of them said anything, they immediately broke eye contact with him to look down at their feet, some of them visibly gulping.
Standing up from his chair, Chaudhary paced forward in his direction
"I'm not that evil, am I? Huh? I'm not going to kill you... you would kill yourself" looking directly into his guard's fearful eyes with an evil smile playing on his lips, he reached his coat pocket to take out a knife
"Take this, here" handing him the knife, Chaudhary grabbed his body and turned him around, so that he was facing the city and the Arabian sea in distance."It's even sea-facing, enjoy your day ahead, have a good time and when you get tired just cut the rope, your game will be finished" Cackling to himself, he signaled his guards, who were watching the scene unfolding in front of them in horror, to follow him as he took the staircase to leave the building.
But just when they got on the rented black jeep placed in front of the building, a body fell on its bonnet with extreme force, forming a dent over it.Laughing loudly, Chaudhary signaled his guard to start the jeep.
"Gave up this fast?" he laughed again. The dead body of the guard fell down on the ground as the jeep took a U-turn out of the construction site.---------------------------------------------------------
A day before in the hospital...
"But he hasn't reached the hospital, HOW WOULD I MANAGE IT ALL ALONE!?" Rumi's outburst caused everyone to look at her, the receptionist signaled her to remain quiet by putting a finger on her lips.
After calling on Nav's set landline for the hundredth time, Rumi's patience was wearing thin. Night-shifters were less than enthusiastic to give her updates every second about her brother, who left the set an hour ago.
"SORRY" she shouted at her and then continued to speak in a low voice into the speaker of the landline. Muffled voices came from the other end of the microphone as she listened calmly for a minute.
"Yes, I know everyone's here but I can't calm down- hmm.." She continued to listen, looking at the happy crowd in front of her, her neighbors whom she called in a haste. They were more than ecstatic to be there when she called them, with some people even bringing sweets and party poppers to burst after the birth of the baby. It was 9:33 PM, three hours after they reached the hospital, when the doctor finally ordered to shift Padma from a normal restroom in the hospital to the labor room as her pain increased. Ten minutes in and still there were no voices coming out of the labor room, leaving everyone in anticipation. Trisha was having fun, sitting on a seat beside a huge aquarium, lost in her muse.
"- I know-No, they took her inside-" She got interrupted again but this time with a shrill cry of a baby, a new born baby to be precise.
"OH MY GOD, I'LL CALL YOU LATER, BYE-BYE" With a big grin on her face she rushed towards the door of the labor room as the society residents hugged each other. The two ladies who were at loggerheads just a day ago, Aruna bahin the same lady who broke the glasses of Shanu Vahini in a violent face off for water, danced with each other, Trisha came running up to Rumi and tried to open the door in excitement but Rumi pulled her back as the crying voice started to grow more vivid.
