Abby’s four door corolla pulled into a parking space at the front of their school. Lucy sighed from the front passenger seat “Something tells me my senior year isn’t going to be as great as what I thought it would be.”

“You don’t know that.” Cassy said from the back as she unbuckled her seatbelt “It could still be a great senior year. Some other girl may get Max’s attention, and he leaves you alone.”

“That would be great.”

Getting out of the car, Lucy scans the parking lot for Max and his friends. She’s relieved when she doesn’t see them.

“Maybe he’s too injured to come to school today.” Cassy says hopefully,

“He seemed fine when he came over yesterday. Wouldn’t it be great if he were to injured though?”

Abby slips her arm through Lucy’s “We have English together first up.” She looks over to Linda “You and Lucy have second period together, so try and meet up with her as quickly as you can when you get out of first period. It’s best if we try to avoid her being alone.”

“Yeah sure, will you be walking with her to class or going straight to second period?” Linda asked Abby

“I will walk with her, so we will see you there.”

Linda nods her head “Cassy and I will go to our lockers since they are next to each other’s and meet you back at Lucy’s.”

Lucy wasn’t sure what she had expected when she got to school, but when they walked inside and no one seemed to pay her any more attention than usual she finally started to relax. No one seemed to know about what happened to her on the weekend. If they did, they would have been staring at her while whispering to their friends. The further she walked into the building the more relaxed she felt. It was as if nothing had happened over the weekend. Everything was normal. They had just reached her looker when someone barged her shoulder. Not expecting it she stumbled back. She looked at the person responsible. She hadn’t seen the red haired girl before and was a little shocked by the amount hate that she was glaring at her with. “Sorry” Lucy mumbled thinking she may have been the one to bump into her since the girl looked so pissed off.  The red heads upper lip raised in a snarl, before storming off passed Lucy.

“Who was that?” Abby asked

“No idea.” She said frowning “I don’t think she likes me, whoever she is.”

“That’s her loss” Abby replied closing her locker. “Come on let’s get to class, I don’t want to end up stuck with one of the front row seat.”

The bell signaling the end of second period rang snapping Lucy out of her daydream. She glanced around the room and watched as everyone got out of their desk and left. The worry she had felt the night before had completely vanished as the day progress.  She hasn’t yet seen Max or his friends. So was almost certain that they hadn’t come today. Picking up her books from her desk she walks over to the door where Linda was waiting to walk her to art. They didn’t speak until they exited the classroom and enter the sea of people walking the halls.
