When I was a kid, I only had my twin. His name's New Zealand, or NZ as we call him. Canada and Meri were busy with their school work or something like that so it was useless to talk and play with them. Not to mention always hearing my parents breaking plates as they yell from the kitchen. Whenever that happens, it was the only time where my brothers will think about us and grab us. They shoved me and NZ into the closet and closed it to keep us safe from father.

I still can remember me hiding in it with NZ sitting in between my legs and leaning his body on mine. I was taller than him. I had my left hand around his waist and my right hand on his mouth, to keep him shut. My eyes were watery and wide when I saw all the hits they received from him. Meri was worst that Canada since he cussed at that monster which resulted him getting hurt even more.

I could see all that happening since the closet door was a bit open so I could peak. I made sure NZ didn't saw it. I saw my mother trying to save us and my father screaming at them in french and Canada trying to reason with him in french since he didn't believe in violence, now because of that, he changed. Meri, as usual tried not to cry while Canada's eyes were bursting into tears. My eyes were tearing up and I tried not to sniffle. NZ tapped on my right hand since it was suffocating him and I said sorry so quietly that I could barely hear it. He nodded saying it was fine and his eyes were crying as well. I opened my arms and he wrapped his arms around my waist and hiding his face with my chest and I petted his head softly. I closed my eyes to try and keep my breathing pace slow and steady.

When they opened the door, Meri was on the bed hiding his face and muffled his cries with the pillow. Canada was in front of us, towering over us with a calm, warm smile. He had received a punch in the face and his stomach. On the floor was a shattered plate and that's when I noticed a cut on his right cheek that soon became a scar. He took out his hand slowly and we both got out. It was almost 8 p.m. and me and NZ walked up to Meri and NZ was in the middle as we lay beside him and observed his face. His teary eyes captured the light making the blueness in his eyes shine even more. He still had a small smile and he received a cut on his arm but he acted like it was never there. We went closer to him and Canada went on his bed to get some shut eye. We all fell fast asleep once we heard the front door slam shut.

I woke up in the middle of the night by the cold breeze. I wad a light sleeper. I got up slowly and saw Canada helping a girl to get in the house. My eyes widened at what I saw and I started to get scared. Canada saw me and told me to come, so I did, slowly. All three of us went on Canada's top bunk bed. We all sat on it with out legs crossed and the girl sitting extremely close to Canada. He turned on the small light and I could see her now. Horizontal line across her face with the upper part being red and bottom being blue with a mark on the upper left corner of her face, almost hitting her eye.

-Who are you? I asked whispering and leaning close to her.

-Call me Ukraine. She answered so quietly and sweetly that I completely forgot the feeling that I felt before.

-She has the same problem as us. Canada said a bit hoarsely since he did tried to fight back with father. I met her at school and she comes in here every night to try and get a goodnight sleep since she can rarely do it.

I observed both of them. Canada was looking at Ukraine with a big smile and Ukraine smiling softly back at him. Two completely different smiles. It must've felt nice for him to have a friend that had the same problem.

I crawled to her slowly and she turned her head to me. I planted myself next to her and observed her even more. She started to talk to me and Canada and she placed her hand on my head and played with my hair gently which made me even more tired. I placed my head on her shoulder and she slowly pulled me to lay down next to her. Seeing her next to me talking with Canada was the last thing that I saw before I went back to sleep.

-A-And that's what I can tell you at the moment... I managed to say even if there was a big lump in my throat.

Japan nodded and handed me another tissue since a tear fell from my cheek. I thanked her and used it and started to laugh nervously.

-Sorry that you had to listen to my depressive story... I apologized and she placed her hand on my shoulder and smiled softly.

I couldn't smile, I had no more force to do it. I now need a reason to do this specific action. Bolt was right next to me during the whole story telling. All my pets were there for me. Even my newly made friend who was a country herself.

-We all have problems and it feels good to let it out, right? Japan asked and I nodded and she smiled.

She looked down on her watched and frowned. I was hoping she wouldn't leave so soon because I needed her.

-I-I need to go, sorry Australia...

-Aussie. Call me Aussie since Australia is was too long. I said as she got up.

She nodded and gave me a goodbye hug before waving and leaving me alone in this world. Another tear came out and it was warm. I instantly wiped it away.
