[OH MY GOODNESS! CAN ANYONE SEE ANYTHING? IT LOOKS LIKE TYLER TOOK ALL THAT HEAD ON!]
The smoke engulfed the arena floor. Even Midnight and Cementoss had a hard time trying to figure out who had won the match up. The smell of charred cement rose from the stage, and the feeling of ice was also emanating from it as well. When the smoke began to part, the stage had begun to reveal.
From one end, there was an end of molten cement and icebergs. This must be the opposite end of Todoroki. The trail followed a facsimile of what was found at the end until sights were set on the centre. There was shattered ice and the paving was only streaked black. This continued to be so as the smoke lifted from the other end. And when the last veil was lifted, I was there with the top half of my sports uniform tattered; my arms were numb from both the fire and the ice. And as for Todoroki, he was one foot out of the arena.
"Todoroki is out of bounds! Tyler moves to the finals!"
Cheers of awe we're made as the crowd watched the tense spectacle. I didn't dwell too much on their praise, but I approached Todoroki. His head was down and he was shaking, as if in shame. My hand found it's way to his shoulder.
"Nice going, there."
"What's so good about this loss..?" His eyes held malicious intent. But eyes like that? I've plucked them out before — plenty times before. There's nothing those could do to scare me.
"Well, you used your fire. That's a start."
"I thought I'd never use it again after Midoriya."
"Well, you should. Limiting yourself like that is pretty stupid in-and-of-itself. A villain wouldn't have mercy on you like how I did." I patted firmly as I looked at him with a small grin.
"Stop holding yourself back. If you think of your fire as some curse, then use it for good. Only then, should you be able to ignore the fact that it came from a buffoon." If I'm being frank, I don't actually know why I said any of these words. I don't know jackshit about this guy, but here I am, trying to comfort him.
I patted him again and walked to the opposing end. The refs both approached me but I waved them away, signalling that I have no desire to be put on a stretcher. I walked my way to the nurses office and put myself onto one of the vacant beds. I looked briskly and noticed that the room was empty, and so I made myself comfortable.
A bit of time passed and I heard someone approach me, making sure on who it was, I looked at their reflection in the window. I confirmed that it was not someone I knew from the school, but this was no stranger either.
"Mutt."
"That's 'fox' to you, kid" I turned to my target and looked at his face. It was better than what it looked like from when I had left him in that coma.
Getting up from the bed, still in my tattered sports kit, I approached Pembroke with gilded skin, thanks to the sun's perfect angle. It made me look somewhat 'divine' in front of this grey-suited man, yet his demeanour carried an auspicious sense of authority. In all fairness, he had impeccable choice in footwear.
"I see you have those brogues I recommended you." I flashed a quick glimpse at the tanned leather shoes. They shone quite nicely despite already looking slightly worn.
"Yes, well, I couldn't say no to a recommendation coming from you, now can I?" He crossed his arms and smiled playfully, almost in childlike way.
He then reached into his suit jacket and pulled out a note. It was crinkled and thin — tracing paper thin — and it displayed a roughly scrawled drawing of...something.
