Chapter 11

"Welp, I'll be going." I got out of my seat and received some graces from my peers.

"Good luck you two!"
"Yeah! Pour your all into this!"
"Go Beyond, alright!"

I let Kaminari exit before me, but Charlie called out,

"Wait! Tyler, where are you going?!" She raced up the stairs and met me in the corridor. 

"I've got a match to fight in," I said while gesturing towards the big screen in the middle.

"Ah. Um, well-" She looked down in embarrassment and felt a bit awkward. I didn't know how to handle this like a friend, so I just gave her a hug and a few kisses on her forehead.

"Don't worry. I won't be gone for long." I let go and saw her flustered face. She seemed to be weak against my genuine and sincere kindness for her. She seemed to have been used to my distasteful side for far too long.  

"Y-yeah! Go for the top, 'kay?" She raised her arms and made a double-thumbs-up sign whilst slightly lowering her head some more.

"Yeah, go for gold." I walked away to the stadium's floor and approached the exit. I entered into the light, swooping back my hair and raised my face towards the light. 

[WE HAVE THE UNDERDOG AND A CERTAIN GOLDEN EGG OF THIS ENTIRE FESTIVAL, TYLER MAGCASTELLE!

SPARKING KILLING BOY! FROM THE SAME COURSE AND CLASS, IT'S DENKI KAMINARI!] 

I looked my opponent in the face and heard him say,

"I'll try not to hurt you too much, okay?" He held up an okay sign and I only shrugged in return.

"Start!"

I made no hesitation and ran straight towards Kaminari. He evaded as I dived for him, but rolled onto the floor. I repeated this while trying to lunge for him, but still, missed anyway. This time, he charged up his arm and approached me, and my instincts had me grab his arm and caused me to get electrocuted. However, instead of being able to throw him, I dropkicked him away from me and hopped back onto my feet, while he stumbled away.

"It doesn't hurt too much, does it? It didn't seem so, so I hope you don't mind me increasing it a bit." Kaminari began to have a few tendrils fly off his body which made him more intimidating despite his retarded personality. 

"Don't worry, I'm sure I won't be in too bad of a shock." I began to run at him again threw a full-on flying sidekick straight at him. He took the brunt of it but managed to turn sideways and graze my torso with his bolts of lightning.

"Come here, lad!" I tried to grapple him, but he kept evading and using his electric bolts in an attempt to put me out of it. It was subtle, but the power of each electrocution became larger. However, that doesn't mean I wasn't able to put in a few hits. Thanks to my experience with several fighting styles, I utilised combos of kicks and the deception of capoeira to trip him up and kick him away while getting struck by the lightning now and then.

"Agh! It seems that your tolerance is higher than I anticipated." I sensed the air become more tingly and saw as the energy from Denki was growing quite exponentially. 

"I'll just have to put you out of commission in order to win! Indiscriminate Shock, 1.3 million volts!" His hands made contact with the ground and I saw the oncoming tsunami of electricity. Since I couldn't escape this without eliminating myself, I did something rather stupid.

"A game of attrition then!" I stood my ground and awaited the taser wave. It approached with alarming speeds and I knew that this would hurt a lot, but I was pretty confident that I could take it.
