"Are you going to this stupid mascaraed ball" Jae asked dan
"Nah I wasn't really invited to it and plus it's not really my thing"
"Come on Dan, it'll be fun. Don't you wanna go with Serena, Maybe then you'll get lucky tonight too" Jae laughed at him when Dan pushed him
"Do you have a date or do nobody want to go with you"
"For your information Daniel Humphrey I do have a date, I'm going with Jennie"
"MY SISTER" Dan looked like he was about to throw so punches
"No dumbass, jennie Kim. The one that's on the cheerleading team" Dan stood there looking flustered while Jae laughed at him.
"Well even if I did want to go I can't because I don't have a date and I don't wanna follow you and your date around like a lost puppy"
"What happened to you and Serena?"
"She's not like that, she would never want to go to anything like that. Plus why would she ever want to go with me when she has lots of other guys that would want to go with her that are 10 times hotter than me" Jae rolled his eyes at him
"Come on, at least ask her if she wants to come. What's the worst that could happen? "
"What's the worst that could happen?! she could say no, she could do a lot worse then say no, she could get Blair to banish me from New York probably"
"She wouldn't do that dan, she likes you. Stop being a-" he was cut off by Dan's phone ringing
"Vanesa?" Jae looked at him confused, he had never mentioned someone named Vanesa to him. He wondered who that could be. "I don't know. Yah Yah let me go check" Dan walked into him room "Oh My God Vanesa, what are you doing here"
"Surprise" They both walked out of dan's room "Who's this?"
"Vanesa this is Jae my friend"
"I see you finally made a friend at that snobby rich kid school. Hey I'm Vanesa" Jae raised an eyebrow at her not really sure what she was trying to imply.
"Hey nice to meet you" He shook her hand, the three of them sat there in awkward silence. So Jae decided it'd be best to leave "so I'm gonna go"
"Bye" both Dan and Vanessa said
"Oh Honey you look so handsome" Jae's mom started to tear up
"Mom don't start to cry."
"Your right I'm sorry, I'm just so emotional. I can't believe you're all gown up already, your father is so happy for you" Jae looked at his mom with sad and angry eyes, she still believed that he would come back to her, she pretended as if he was just on a business trip or something. Jae didn't say anything he didn't want to upset his mother. Jae went off to go pick up his date, once they both arrived at the party they bumped into Serena.
