SURPRISE... I know I said I wasn't uploading but I typed this out yesterday and since I'm finishing up the next chapter of Together and uploading it tmrw, I figured I'd get this one out too.

ALSO I wanna make this known now because it might be confusing to some people. When the character says 'aids' they're referring to hearing aids, not the disease.

Today's my first day at my new job, the bar, and I'm looking forward to it. It's not too far away from my apartment and it's close to the city. I wouldn't have minded if it was further, I've been job hunting for a while and I would've taken anything that anyone was willing to give me.

My last job was a certified nursing assistant but I didn't like the idea of me wiping ass for the rest of my life and theirs. It was good money and bearable at the time, but I came to a point where I felt trapped. That's why I completely went away from the whole nursing and doctoring options and looked for an average everyday job.

My parents weren't too thrilled about it but it's my future, not theirs. I could care less what they have to say.

As I finished parking in the back I saw a small group of people walking in through the back door as well. They weren't wearing the shirts that the bar crew or kitchen crew wear. Wonder who they are.

I shook my head, deciding to ignore it and started to get out of the car. I locked the doors and slid my phone in my front pocket, put my keys out of my other pocket, and began walking to the door. I grabbed the handle and pulled it open then went to the break room to clock in.

"Hey."

I turned my head, there was a guy around my height with a gang of tattoos covering his arms and neck, my boss.

"Hey."

"When you're done, come straight to the bar." Stone stated heavily.

I finished clocking in and began to walk behind him, leaving some distance between us. Once we were at the bar he went in first and showed me where and what everything is. He explained what I'd be doing tonight and introduced me to the other bartender and who I think is the manager whilst he's not present.

The bar isn't too busy right now, we spent the time talking, they did most of the talking and I basically only listened. I don't enjoy talking if I don't need to.

Reggie was asking Jane what her plans were after the bar closed and she shrugged then said "Getting to know Eren."

My eyebrows raised and we connected eyes, "You're very quiet. Why is that?" She asked.

"Don't have anything to say."

"Tell us about yourself then. Reggie's your coworker and I'm here often, you'll see both of us practically all the time."

I sighed, she's not wrong. Reggie and I will both be working full-time and Stone did say that Jane is here on stand by to handle shipments and whatnot.

"I'm 24, live not too far from here, and I'm deaf."

"Deaf?" Reggie asked, "Where are your hearing aids?"
