Jane

Once Eren and Reggie left I showered and put on some actual clothes. A plain black fitted t-shirt paired with loose fitting black trousers.

All I did to my hair was pull it back into a low bun at the base of my neck and moved on to complete my daily activities.

Breakfast is already taken care of thanks to Reggie, all I need to do is go to the grocery store, stop by the bar, and go to a piercing parlor.

My lip isn't completely healed, but I want it back and I've waited far too long.

After I jogged upstairs and fished a lot of cash out of a dirty pair of my bottoms, I went back down and grabbed my phone and keys, leaving the door.

I locked it and shook the handle to make sure it was strong and stern.

Now that I was sure my door was fine, I typed away on my phone as I paced down to the elevator. I opened up Reggie's contact and unblocked his number, a buttload of messages rolled in afterwards.

I skipped past the few I saw before I blocked him and focused on the later ones.

He sent me a list of things to buy to fill my fridge, ranging from fruits, vegetables, meats, and snacks.

I took a screenshot of everything and texted him a thank you back then dropped my phone in my pocket.

The elevator finally opened, and I got on, clicking the base level, and leaned back on the wall staring at myself on the reflective glass.

Soon I came to my exit level and hopped off, making my way to my car. I unlocked the doors as I approached and got in, staring it up, and pulling out the parking garage into the streets.

As I drove, I had my windows completely open. The sounds of different animals, people talking, and cars driving filled the air.

I tuned out all the sounds except for the animals. I heard dogs barking, birds chirping, and rodents. At the red light I centered in on the sound of the birds.

Their soft yet powerful voices taking over my ears, each chirp was different. Some were longer and some were quick little chirps that lasted a second at most.

Eventually the light turned green, I pulled myself back into reality and all the other noises I forgot about reappeared.

The people, dogs, and cars pounding on the pavement.

I live a good distance away from the grocery store, but I've decided that I'll save that for last since I know I'd rather do other things right now.

I want my lip pierced and I want to go to the bar. There's a store a few blocks down, I'll go after everything else is taken care of. Reggie's gonna go on one of his tangents but I'm sure I'll get that done today.

I genuinely need food and I'm not in the mood for takeout tonight.

Instead of turning after that light like I was supposed to, I kept straight and made my way down to my usual piercing parlor.

Pretty much everyone in there knows who I am. I come so often that they keep the same time everyday open for me because they know that one of those days, I'll show up needing my lip done again.

They're not aware of what I do exactly, but it doesn't take a genius to connect two and two together after seeing me constantly bruised and beaten.

I used to hide whatever I could with makeup, but it comes to a point where you just stop giving a fuck.

I stopped giving a fuck.

The main piercer was concerned at first, I could read it on her face. She thought I was getting harmed by someone in my life. She wasn't technically wrong, Stone does put me in check in very... physical ways, but he doesn't do the heavy damage to me. The rest is all me and battle scars from 'enemies'.
