Hi, I want to ensure you guys understand which parts are in sign language and which aren't so for most of this chapter if I didn't mention that they're using sign or one of the characters didn't say 'in sign language' it's italicized.

Once again anything that is italicized, after this authors note of course is sign language! Hope you enjoy loves.

"How exactly does the game work?" I asked, clearing my throat as I waited for her reply.

"It's not really a game. More like sensory deprivation, a test to see how well you'll do."

My face scrunched, still not picking up what she's attempting to put down, "What do you mean?"

"You're deaf, Eren. I wanna see how good your senses are, and given that you know people like me now, you need to able to rely on them."

"If I remember correctly, I was told I'd be protected." I stated, as a matter of fact.

Jane nodded, "You were, but I can only do so much to protect you, Prince. I just wanna see, come on, it can't hurt."

"I agreed already so let's just get this over with."

I took a deep breath and watched Jane as she began to stand. She walked around the lake and gathered a few items before coming back to the blanket. In her hands she had a few rocks and sticks. I gave her a small look of concern and instead of speaking she dropped everything on the blanket and signed 'Don't be nervous' and another word I don't know.

"What did that last word mean?" I asked.

"I'll spell it out for you, it's good practice."

P-R-I-N-C-E

"Prince. Out of all the nicknames you could've came up with that's the one you want to stick?"

She hummed, "It's fitting giving the circumstances."

Jane rubbed her hands together to get rid of the sand from her fingers then signed 'lay down', I did as she asked and got comfortable. She kneeled down on the blanket and looked down at my body, observing it.

I looked back at her, waiting for her to begin.

She finally picked up one of the sticks and set it directly in the middle of my chest. After that she grabbed a few of her rocks and set them randomly on my chest too.

"Close your eyes and point to every area you feel a rock."

"Jane, if I saw where you set everything down I'm still gonna know where they are when I close my eyes. And I can feel them. I'm deaf, not paralyzed."

A deep breathe exited her nostrils, "Confident in your senses I see. Good, good. That was the easier route but clearly you'd prefer something more challenging." She continued, "Look me in my eyes instead, only thing you can do is blink."

She moved closer to me and rose up slightly so I couldn't see anything but her face and the sky behind her.

"Now tell me, where did I set the stick and rocks?" She asked.

Looking at her I pointed out every spot where I felt an object resting on me.

Jane nodded, signing 'Good job' then moved onto her next phase. She held our eye contact and began doing something else. I felt her hands run down my arms and travel their way up to my chest. Eventually she rested her hands in two different spots on me. One on my right shoulder and the other on the left side of my lower abdomen.
