" No!!!" By now, Severus Prince was screaming in agony. Tears streaming down his face.

Both his parents looked at him with an ache in the heart. Nothing could be done here. The engagement is already broken and the Riddles have already cut the blood tie. Somehow they felt that it was partly their fault too. They should have told him about the terms of engagement.

" Son, please ". Nicole pleaded, his eyes also glassy. He didn't like it when his son was unhappy. 

" Let me see him dad. I can explain it to him. I didn't want to defend James. I just wanted to prevent Tom from hurting him so that Tom wouldn't be any serious trouble. Please  dad. Take me to him. " Severus was half sobbing and half screaming now. His words broke, his throat pained and above that his heart broke.

For first time in thirteen years, Nicole watched his son cry.  He looked at his husband , pleading to do something.

" Sev. Please get up and go upstairs. Get some sleep. We will do what we can. " Alexander knew that it was just a simple misunderstanding. 

Severus dragged himself up to his room and fell face first into he bed. " I fucking hate you Tom. You couldn't wait for an explanation could you " he screamed into the pillow.

After hours of crying he fell asleep.

Tom was in his study doing all the paperwork he had left behind. But not even piles of paperwork took his mind from Severus. He felt disgusted with himself for craving for somebody else's significant other.

" Master Riddle " suddenly his house elf popped up in front of him.

" What do you want Jiffy?" He asked.

" Lord Prince has come to see you. "

Tom sighed . " I'll be there in ten minutes. Is Severus here?" His mind raced as the name rolled in his tongue.

" No master "

" Leave Jiffy. I will be there "

Tom gathered himself. He walked down the stairs in confident strides.
The lord Prince was sitting with his mom in the visiting room.

" I will leave you two. "

His mom left him and his ex- father in law.

Alexander Prince was a man of few words. The perfect pureblood heir. Nothing in his life was imperfect, even the failed marriage with the insane lady since Severus came to him through it. But now he carried the burden of a father, his son's happiness.

" My apologies Mr. Riddle-"

" Don't worry lord Prince. I am at fault here. It was selfish of me to push Severus into a relationship he didn't want. And I do know how much a mate means to one and unfortunately I am not blessed with one in this lifetime, but that doesn't allow me to take someone's mate. So I think there is no need for apologies. "

Alexander sighed.

" My son likes you "

Tom scoffed internally at the sound of his heart breaking. He forced a smile before answering-

" He doesn't. He has a mate and even if he had anything towards me, the ring would have stayed. "

Alexander stared at him wide eyed.

" You didn't read the contract. Did you?"

A look of confusion bloomed on Tom's face.

" The ring was a binding. It will disappear, when the magic behind it is convinced that the couple are strong enough to proceed so that it can be replaced by the marriage ring. "

" But I thought, he wished to go back-"

" Under two circumstances the ring disappeared. You thought it was the first one but obviously it's the second. "

" So you think Severus loves me. "

" I don't 'think' Riddle. I am one hundred percent sure. Throughout the thirteen years of my life with my son, I have never seen him crying. The very person is bawling his eyes off now. He even screamed at Nicole. "

Tom didn't reply. He should have waited for the explanation.

" Are you going to come back with me or not?"
