I woke up to someone shaking me. "Go away." I grumbled, turning to face the back of the couch. "No can do, love. You need to get up, everyone is going to be coming down for breakfast soon and as much as I love seeing your peaceful face, you need to get ready to leave." I heard a soft voice say as they sat behind me.I flipped back over to see who had just called me love. I blushed automatically seeing the hazel eyes and circular glasses. He set his hand on my knee as I stayed laid down on the couch facing him. "Can't I just skip breakfast?" I questioned pouting. "No can do, Cy. You need to eat." He said as he stood up and looked down over me.
"Come on. Let's go." James said, picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder. He continued over to the stairs and used the spell to freeze the stairs so it didn't turn into a slide. "James put me down! What are you doing!" I yelled as I hung over his shoulder.
"Sorry, love, but you need to brush your teeth and get dressed." He said opening my dorm door and walking to my closet. He set me down in front of my closet and continued to pick an outfit for me. He picked jeans and a cute top, some socks, and a pair of shoes. "There, now go get ready so we can meet everyone downstairs for breakfast." He handed me the clothes and I walked to the bathroom and got ready.
(They can wear whatever they want outside of classes.)
"Ready to go?" I walked out of the bathroom and looked at James who was sitting on my bed. "Yeah let's go!" He said jumping up and grabbing my hand, opening my dorm door and pulling me down stairs and out of the common room. "So, what class are you looking forward to the most?" James asked, looking over at me from my left.
"Probably care of magical creatures. It has always been my favorite. Plus did you see the new hippogriff they brought in! It was beautiful!" I said remembering the feathered animal. "I don't know why I asked, I saw that coming." James said, bumping shoulders with me. "What is that supposed to mean?" I questioned with a scoff and a smile.
"No! No... uh, I didn't mean anything by it I-" I cut him off before he could freak out anymore. "No. No, James I was joking. I was just messing with you." I laughed at him as he shoved me lightly.
"Astra! Astra, wait!" I heard behind me. I turned and saw my brother Regulus. "Regulus, I am going to be late for breakfast and quite honestly I don't fancy being mad before I even eat." I continued walking until he grabbed my forearm lightly. "Get your hands off me." I demanded, turning and looking at him.
"Please just listen!" He yelled exasperated as he let my arm go. James stood slightly in front of me. "What! What is so important?" I demanded, already feeling a headache coming on. "Mum wants us all at the Christmas ball over break. She said if you didn't come it would-" "Ruin the Black family name, I know." I rolled my eyes, having heard this many times before.
"Astra, you have to listen to me. This is serious, Mum will be absolutely furious with you and Sirius if you don't show up." Regulus looked at me sympathetically. "When isn't she mad at me? And Sirius for that matter. I am not coming to some stupid ball. She disowned us. Burned us right off of the family tree. Me and Sirius had to make our way to James' house with cuts and bruises on us. That is where we found our real family, a family who loves us! Why would she care if we show up to some bloody high class ball?" I said, rolling my eyes and grabbing James' arm and pulling him into the great hall for breakfast.
I sat down and put my head in my hands massaging my temples trying to rid myself of the headache. I will probably have to go to Madam Pomfrey for a potion or something later. "Woah, what happened to you?" I heard my idiotic, long haired brother ask. I didn't even lift my head. "We ran into Regulus on our way here." James whispered to him. "And what did he want?" Sirius asked, gripping his fork a little tighter.
"Our dear brother was just telling me how our lovely mother would love us to show up to the Black Family Christmas Ball! Said she didn't want to risk ruining the family name!" I said with fake enthusiasm, putting some food on my plate. I guess I didn't get enough because next thing I knew both Sirius and James were piling more on my plate. "Guys please I have a headache I can't eat all of this right now." I said, just to be ignored.
"So what are we going to do?" Sirius questioned, raising his eyebrow at me. "Well we have two options. Show up and ruin it or not go at all and stay at the Potter Mansion." I smirked at Sirius. "No. No, you're not going back! I saw what your mother did to you that night and I will not let you go back to risk that happening again!" James whisper yelled at the two of us as Peter and Remus nodded in agreement.
"When have you ever known us to back down from a challenge?" I said as me and Sirius turned to the others and raised an eyebrow at them in sync. "Hey Ash, you still got that green dress?" Sirius asked me as he smirked. "For occasions just like this, Siri." I answered. "Good... good." Sirius said as the others looked at each other questionably and then at us. "Please, just whatever you two do... be safe?" Remus asked more than stated. Me and Sirius just continued eating.
