Robin McKinnon watched the view from his room. Almost at the top of the tower, the Slytherin could see the vast snowy expanse of the forest surrounding the castle. With his hands clasped behind his back, he stood straight as usual. The young wizard tried to spot the lake that Headmistress Leen Connor had mentioned during her opening speech, but he couldn't see it. It was then that he remembered the witch's words: "The lake is one of the many mysteries of Myroam. Few have managed to find it. "A half-smile appeared on his face. This was a challenge he was eager to take on. This holiday was going to be decisive. The young McKinnon had to test himself and train in order to be sure he was worthy.
His gaze was suddenly drawn to a female figure emerging from the castle through one of the towers adjoining the main entrance. He had seen her before. He didn't know her and had never seen her before, but she had been staring at them during the welcome with two other girls. Robin had not been able to determine which school she belonged to, she was not wearing a coat of arms on her jacket. This was not strange, in fact it was the holidays. The need to display one's house was not mandatory.
He did not take his eyes off her. The sun had already finished its nightly descent for a while, what was she going to do outside, all alone? Robin only saw her take a few steps forward, distracted by the violent opening of her bedroom door. He turned around, grabbing his wand as he went. There he saw a spark enter and transform into a dragon. He followed it with his eyes before it exploded.
- Pretty good, huh? asked him Enron, looking proud.
Robin ignored him and went back to the window. Of course, she had disappeared. He sighed.
- Forgive my brother, Robin, he doesn't know where his limits are, excused him Ethan as he entered.
- Oh, I know him. What are you doing here, lion? Robin gently challenged him.
Young McKinnon's room wasn't just his own. He shared it with three other Slytherins, including Regulus and Ethan. Enron, being in Gryffindor, was theoretically not supposed to be there. Only, in Myroam, the rules were a bit more flexible.
- I'm here to get my books, he replied, holding out his hands in his brother's direction.
Ethan sighed and wearily ran his hand through his hair before waving his wand at his bag.
- Accio books!
A huge pile of books flew into Enron's arms and he bent over under the weight. He gritted his teeth before straightening up.
- Too kind, really, he growled. See you tomorrow, Rob!
Robin gave him a small wave in response.
- Where's Regulus? he asked, looking at Ethan.
The dark-haired man, who was putting his suitcase away under his bed, sat up. Robin saw him hesitate, quickly looking at the door before answering evasively.
- He's dealing with something, he's coming.
Regulus and Ethan were constantly together. Robin had never seen them apart, as far as he knew. So something made him think that Ethan didn't really know what his best friend was doing. The young wizard suddenly had the strange urge to go looking for him. Not only because curfew was about to strike, but also because Regulus Black had a way of fascinating him. He couldn't quite explain it to himself, but he felt it was his duty to stay in his vicinity.
- Where are you going? Ethan stopped him as he walked towards the house.
- To look for Regulus.
