"It looks like you didn't have any trouble with that," Seojin commented as she left the press conference hall with Yoori walking beside her.
It was only the day after her arrival at Hera Palace, but Yoori had already been given a schedule that she was expected to follow in the coming month or so in order to seamlessly settle in to her new life. The chestnut-haired girl hadn't been given enough time to rest after her tiring first day—she had been woken up early that morning, dressed in expensive clothes and lectured on proper etiquette, and then dragged off to a press conference with the board of Cheong-Ah Foundation. A few journalists were there too, having been personally invited to the meeting by Cheon Myung-soo and paid to write positive things about Yoori for the newspapers.
The conference had dragged on for ages since Yoori had to meet each of the board members and answer many questions both from them and from the journalists sitting in one of the corners of the hall. Seojin had interfered a couple of times, answering questions that she had believed Yoori wouldn't be able to handle and laughing off any comments that were thrown around about the girl's sudden appearance.
Overall, the Cheon woman had been satisfied with Yoori's handling of the situation. There was one thing that was concerning her, however, and that was how calm the young girl had been throughout the entire thing as well as how professionally she had answered all of the questions thrown at her from all around the hall. Seojin supposed that it wasn't really much to worry about, but a nagging voice at the back of her head prompted her to address the matter.
Side-eyeing the young girl beside her, Seojin said, "You seemed like you were in your element back there. Almost as if you were used to this sort of thing."
"Did it seem that way?" Yoori asked, her tone of voice turning innocent as a shy smile appeared on her lips. "I'm very glad that my nervousness didn't show—it wouldn't have been good if everyone's first impression of me was that I am introverted and uncomfortable in front of people."
Seojin hummed while nodding slowly. I suppose that she is just a good actress, she thought, dismissing her concerns.
"The Cheons are a very influential family," the Cheon woman said, directing her gaze ahead of her again. "Now that you are a part of it, you must not appear weak—you have to keep your head up and keep going forwards no matter what. You cannot afford to let anyone see your weaknesses because they will not hesitate to use it against you. Mask your nervousness and fear just like you did today from now on—you can do that for me, right?"
