Enjoyed your shower, bunny?
You looked delicious~
Mercy's grip faltered, and her phone slipped from her hands, hitting the ground. The protective case absorbed the impact, preventing it from shattering. A wave of nausea washed over her, and she leaned against the sink counter for support. She had just emerged from the shower, a towel still wrapped around her, and now the intrusion shattered the fragile peace she had found.
'Heey, are you alright?' Heeseung's concerned voice reached her from the other side.
'Yeah,' Mercy uttered, her voice strained. 'Just accidentally pushed it off the counter.'
'Alright, just let me know if you need my help,' Heeseung offered.
'Mhm,' Mercy choked out, struggling to compose herself. 'Will do.' The violation of her privacy, coupled with the unnerving messages, left her feeling vulnerable and exposed even within the supposed safety of her own home.
She felt like she was going crazy. The violation of her privacy reached an unnerving peak, and she grappled with an onslaught of bewildering thoughts. What was she supposed to do in the face of this inexplicable intrusion? How did they know she was showering? The realization sent shivers down her spine. The mere thought of someone monitoring her most intimate moments sparked a visceral discomfort.
How did they know anything about her? The sender's knowledge about her routines and even the whereabouts of her missing shirt fueled a growing sense of paranoia. It wasn't just a random act; it was a calculated invasion into her personal life. The very core of her privacy had been breached-
And how did they get a hold of her shirt? It wasn't just a random item; it was something personal.
It must have been someone who managed to sneak inside the building and the locker room. The realization struck her with a jolt. The intruder wasn't just an outsider. It must have been someone with access, someone who could go inside there without anyone getting suspicious.
But the building was crawling with people. It could have been anyone. The anonymous intruder could be anyone— a face in the crowd, a person she passed by in the hallways, or even someone she considered a friend. The walls seemed to close in as she grappled with the realization that the threat could be lurking within the everyday faces she encountered.
Anyone. The word echoed ominously in her mind, encapsulating the pervasive uncertainty that now tainted her perception of the world around her.
Mercy exhaled a heavy sigh as she blow-dried her hair, attempting to divert her thoughts from the unsettling messages. Surely the sender was just playing around. She should block them. Why hadn't she done that already? But what if they did something rash? No, they couldn't. . . She should block them. It was a simple move, a simple button.
And then she pressed it.
Yet, relief did not wash over her. Instead, her phone seemed to freeze. The screen flickered, and the words 'error' flashed in bright red.
Panic began to settle in, and Mercy burst out of the bathroom, her towel tightly wrapped around her.
'I—something happened to my phone—' she began to explain, but the sight before her silenced her. Instead of Heeseung, there stood a man, donned in a fox mask, clad in black from head to toe.
'Heeseung had to go, emergency, I'm afraid,' he informed her, cocking his head. His eyes and face remained hidden behind the mask, but Mercy couldn't shake the feeling that a sinister smile lurked beneath its enigmatic facade.
Mercy's eyes widened in fear as she instinctively backed away from the masked man. He loomed over her, and she couldn't shake the sense of dread that accompanied his presence. She was not short, and neither was he, but the masked figure seemed to cast a looming shadow that engulfed her.
'My little bunny,' he cooed, his words sending a shiver down her spine.
Panic set in, her heart pounding within her chest, breath turning shallow. In a desperate attempt to escape, she darted towards the bathroom, but he was too quick. He seized her wrist, forcefully shoving her against the wall. The impact sent a searing pain shooting through her skull as her head collided with the unforgiving surface behind her. The world spun for a moment, disorienting and terrifying, as she struggled against the firm grip that kept her captive.
'Let me go!'
A sudden hand clamped over Mercy's mouth, stifling her voice and plunging the room into a suffocating silence. As he leaned in closer, she turned her head to the side, shutting her eyes tightly in a desperate attempt to shield herself from the nightmare unfolding around her. The tactile denial of her surroundings seemed to offer a fragile illusion of escape.
'Such soft skin, just as I imagined,' his voice whispered with a sinister undertone. His nails dug into her skin, leaving an uncomfortable trail of discomfort. He leaned in even closer, his breath hot and intrusive against her lips. 'You really thought that by blocking me, you'd get rid of me?'
'Sweet, sweet, bunny,' he cooed with a perverse satisfaction. 'You can't get rid of me.'
The creaking sounds of the front door opening reached her ears, a brief, fleeting hope of rescue.
'That's my cue to leave,' he whispered ominously, the predatory tone lingering in the air. 'You tell anyone about this, and I promise you, I will not only ruin your life but his as well.'
In a twisted final act, Mercy felt him pull his mask up slightly before planting a sloppy, wet kiss on her lips. A surge of disgust and violation swept through her, and when she mustered the courage to open her eyes, he was gone.
