Fast-forwarding a year

A year had gone by and a lot had gone on since the battle of Hogwarts

When my parents found me and Draco they explained that they had gone back to Africa and I couldn't contact them because their numbers were given away when they left the country

I found out we were going back to Africa until things died down or at least until Hogwarts was rebuilt

I wasn't too upset about going because Draco came with us

When we got back my room didn't feel as dark as it did back when I was alone

My mom sat Draco and me down a few days after we were settled and told us

"I've made arrangements for you two to join Uagadou for your last year of school if you can't return to Hogwarts "

I looked at Draco who didn't seem upset about it, I thought he would be because of not wanting to attend his last year in the first place.

Draco looked at me for confirmation

I nodded at my mom "That's great"

Our prolonged summer started simply with us not leaving my room much

But then going outside more, exploring the city.

I introduced him to my friends and it was easy for him to get liked by everyone

Each day that passed I got to see Draco get happier and happier

He missed his mom though and one day I had the idea of him trying to call her

A few weeks before we turned 18 the commotion died down, he finally decided to call her and she answered

Draco was annoyed because she wasn't giving much Information

He kissed me and left the room to speak to his mother

When he came back he looked neutral, not happy but not sad

To create small talk I told him out of nowhere what I had been thinking while he was gone

"There's a lake a few blocks away from here" I smiled

"That's cool, you can show me sometime," He said slumping onto my bed

I got up and pulled him back up "I have time now"

He got up lethargically

"Don't be a grump babe it'll be beautiful especially now that the sun is going down

I was directly in front of him and he looked down at me and smiled

"Fine," he said taking my hand

I led him out of the house and my mom yelled after me

"Where are you guys going!?" She said wiping her wet hands with a towel

"I'm taking him to his death" I joked

"The lake a few blocks from the house!" Draco corrected

He loved sucking up to my mom. That's why she loved him so much
