"Then what happened after the teacher yelled?" Adelina asked Alma, one of the maids daughters.
"Her face was red like a tomato!" Alma giggled.
The duo walked hand in hand around the neighborhood. The little girl told stories and by the time the sun was setting, their cheeks were hurting.
Adelina said goodbye to the girl and walked back into the house. She walked down the hallway admiring the photos that were displayed on the wall.
But something in her room caught her attention, the TV. It was about an invasion that was near her uncles house. Adelina walked slowly and her hands went over her mouth. She was shocked.
She ran to the kitchen and dialed Amado's number. The phone rang for a couple minutes.
"Shit. Answer the phone please." Adelina whispered waiting for the man to answer,
"Hello" A soft voice rang into the telephone.
"Amado....please tell me its not true, tell me hes ok!" Adelina sobbed in the telephone.
"I'm sorry. It's true." Amado spoke quietly.
"omg, omg, omg" Adelina let go of the phone and slide down to the floor.
She cried and started hiccuping. I mean it was such a shocker. Her uncle was really gone. The last part of her family was gone.
Adelina went to bed that night with tear stained cheeks.
🌺
The next morning Adelina watched as the people of the town had a ceremony to honor her uncle. She couldn't bare to watch. It brought back memories and she couldn't handle it.
Adelina never understood how people could kill her uncle. I mean he was a drug dealer but he was a person. A person with a family just like every FBI agent out there.
She walked back into the house and noticed a figure standing near a photo of her and her parents. The figured turned around and Adelina was shocked as to who it was.
"Ramón?"
Ramón turned around and approached the young girl. He hugged her tightly. Adelina stood their with her arms still by her side. She slowly wrapped her arms around Ramón, hugging him back.
"Its going be ok. Trust me." Ramón whispered to her softly. Adelina slowly nodded. A few tears slipped out of her eyes knowing that Ramón was going to be by her side.
🌺
Adelina sat on Ramón's bed and stared out the window. She felt the bed sink in next to her and an arm wrap around her shoulder. Adelina leaned her head against Ramón's shoulder.
She started crying and turned to face Ramón.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry that i didn't tell you." Adelina sobbed out.
