Your eyes fluttered open, it was morning now and the night had gone without a hitch, no storms, no concrete, and no cold. To say you were well-rested was an understatement, you were not only full of life but you were also excited for the day to start, which had never happened before. You sat up and noticed the book Bo had read you were still on the nightstand, Matilda. You remembered the first line, were parents really supposed to think their child was amazing? Even when that might not have been true? So were the people you lived with before really your parents? You didn't know, everything was so confusing these past days, it all felt so ridiculous.
You shook the thoughts you had out of your head and left the room. You didn't really expect to see anyone there, your parents had always slept in late, but standing there was Bo and Lorene making breakfast together and goofing around. The whole kitchen smelled like pancakes, which was great because you loved them with a passion. Lorene looked over her shoulder, "Oh hey, you're awake! How did you sleep last night love?"
"I had a really good sleep. Thank you for reading me to sleep Bo!" you smiled up at him.
"Anytime teacup" Bo replied letting the nickname slip.
"Alright, I am starving so how about we dig in" Lorene took two pancakes off the skillet adding them to a pile on the plate next to her. You all sat down at the table, a smile tugging at Bo's lips you looked so much happier than you were yesterday, he didn't want to be arrogant, but in the back of his mind he knew he did a good job. Lorene and Bo both agreed on giving you some space to get used to them and your new surroundings, but it was so hard not to smother you with kisses, you were just too cute for your own good. "So (Y/N), do you wanna go out and do something today?" Bo asked, giving you a playful nudge.
"I wanna go out, but I don't know anything that you can do here"
"How about we go to a museum" Lorene suggested "Do you have any interests (Y/N)?"
"I really like science, my favorite thing to learn about is space" you have read so many astronaut books in science that you could probably become one.
"This is great! We have a huge science museum here, how about we go there?" Bo recommended
"Yeah!" you cheered
And so it was decided, after finishing your plate you got dressed and brushed your hair. Then, you all got into the car and drove off to the museum. Bo was right it was huge and it had one of the best space exhibits you've ever seen. You tried to explain everything you knew which Bo and Lorene were quite impressed by, you really did love science.
"Maybe she'll be an astronaut someday" Bo whispered to Lorene.
"Our little astronaut, I like that" She giggled.
"Look you guys! There's a section about black holes!" You exclaimed.
Bo gave you a small smile "Wow, how about you tell us about it star kid"
They listened to you throughout the entire presentation you gave them. Was this what it was like? To have parents? The people that you lived with before, maybe they weren't your parents after all you thought to yourself. Then you realised, Bo and Lorene gave you almost everything, but you gave nothing in return. How would you pay off your debt to them? You felt like you were a burden to them. You needed to find out how to not cause any problems for them. You could do all the chores in the house, you did it all the time before and you could do it again. It was a solid plan, do everything for them, stay out of their way, and don't go outside. Perfect.
