Chapter thirteen: That wasn't the end???

Eli sat up from the bed and looked around, he was confused as to where he was when it all came back to him. He stumbled out of the bed and ran out of the room, he ran down the hall and into the living room where Ophelia was putting some crystals on the shelf. She turned around and jumped when she saw Eli. "Why the hell do you humans sneak up on me!?" She groaned. "How are you feeling? Are your wounds healed? That scar on your face won't come off for some reason."

Eli stared at her before finally speaking, "I'm fine...I feel really refreshed. Where's Nick?"

"Oh uhhhh, just go to the right of the house and follow the clear path in the forest."

Eli nodded his head and walked over to the door. He looked down to see his shoes next to the door, he slipped them on, walked out of the house, and walked to the right side of the house where he spotted Finn in the garden. "Hey," Eli said, no answer. He walked over to Finn and tapped him on the shoulder, Finn jumped a bit and held a stick to Eli's neck.
Eli put his hands up in surrender. "Woah there buddy, I just wanna know how you're doing. The last time I saw you, you were freaking out."

Finn stared at Eli, not being able to comprehend what Eli just said. He realized that he hadn't seen Eli in the room when he woke up. Finn dug into his pocket and pulled out a notepad and a pen. He handed it to Eli and tried his best to speak without yelling. "I've gone deaf."
Eli's eyes widened, he began writing on the notepad and showed it to Finn.

I'm so so sorry! I just wanted to know how you're doing.

Finn read it slowly but smiled, he looked up at Eli and spoke, "It's fine, I'm doing just fine. If you're looking for Nick, he just went into the forest with Alvaro."

Eli smiled and wrote on the notepad again.

Alright, bye now.

Eli walked away from the garden and into the forest, he had no clue who Alvaro is but he figured that Nick knew him so he didn't worry too much. After walking for a few more minutes, he spotted Nick sitting with someone on the fountain, Eli figured that that was Alvaro.
"Nick!" Eli ran to Nick. Nick stood up, walked over to Eli, and smiled. "Kid, you're finally awake. How are you feeling?"

"Just fine, feels like I slept for days."

"That could be what happened," Alvaro said from the fountain, they both looked over to him.

"What?" Nick asked him, Alvaro stood up and walked over to them. "Time here is different from the time in your world. Like, three days here could be a month in your world. It apparently began after the evil spread between the worlds."

"Holy crap!" Eli yelled.

"Hey, language," Alvaro said.

Nick's eyes widened. "We have to go back."

"What? Why? You just got here," Alvaro said, his ears dropping.

"Alvaro, Eli is still a child while I am a grownup who could be put in jail for being falsy accused of kidnapping. Along with his...dad who will definitely give the kid a scolding." Nick said nothing about Eli's father being abusive, afraid that it would anger Eli and make him feel untrustworthy towards him.
"We'll be back before you know it, I won't leave for fourteen years."

Alvaro looked unsure but agreed, "All right, we'll check if the portal can be messed with and see if we can help you two return to your world."

Eli smiled brightly, "Woo! Thank you, Alvaro."

He nodded his head, "Let's go then."

They all made their way out of the forest, passed by Finn who was in the garden still, and to the left side of the house to see Ophelia messing with the portal.
"Ophelia!" Alvaro hollered to her, she looked over to them and continued inspecting the portal. "What's up?"
