Trigger warnings; touches lightly on difficulty with eating and a slight mention of manipulation

As Wilbur approached his office building, part of him regretted not speaking to the girl for even a minute longer and he knew that he would get shit from his best friend for not giving her his number. He sighed as he took a sip of the coffee that the girl had just made him, it warmed up his body right away and he was glad that he had it in the bitter cold that he was walking in. His office was only a five minute walk from the café so he figured it wouldn't be bad but boy was he wrong. As he walked in he made his way upstairs through the quiet building. He unlocked the office door and walked over to his computer joining a vc on discord that consisted of what could quite possibly be his two favorite people, Tommy and Tubbo. "Will" the first boy exclaimed loudly making Wilbur flinch at the sudden noise that he wasn't quite ready for yet "hello Wilbur" the other one greeted in a calm tone that contrasted quite nicely with the previous one "hello boys, are either of you streaming? I was thinking about playing some minecraft".

Meanwhile, Sage was closing up at the café. She wiped down the table the boy had sat at and then moved over to the counters before flipping the sign to close and going to collect her things. She smiled as she thought back to her interaction with Wilbur from today and she hoped he would return to the shop sometime soon. Although she was glad he came in, her brain couldn't help but wonder who was out buying coffee at nearly five pm. She shrugged it off and locked the doors of the café, walking up the street to her apartment and in the process sending a text to Mae to inform her that she had closed and was now heading home if she wanted to call sometime soon.

The two friends called each other most days when they didn't work together for long because Mae knew how forgetful Sage was about simple things like drinking water or eating a meal. Sage appreciated these reminders because as much as she didn't want to admit it she really did need them. Sage always seemed to forget the simple things like eating a meal and drinking water. Sage has always had a problem with these things though. Ever since around a year ago at least. Sage used to be in a pretty bad relationship with a boy named Roman. He was a very manipulative person and he told Sage things that made her question herself. He told her that she needed to lose weight which led to her difficulties with eating. He would tell her she was unlovable and now it's difficult for her to show others any type of affection.

Once sage arrived back at her apartment she heard her phone ringing from in her pocket and she answered facetime to see Mae smiling at her. "Have you eaten yet" she asked almost immediately and Sage tried to think back, retracing her steps of the day "uhm, I had a bagel at work with you this morning" she said excitedly and received applause from her friend making her laugh "thank you, thank you" she told her friend as bowed in front of her phone that was sat up on the counter. The two talked for a while before Mae gasped "wait where is Felix, I haven't seen him yet". Sage got up from her spot where her phone sat and walked through the apartment to her room seeing her cat, Felix, laying on her bed. She scooped him up gently and walked back out to the kitchen where Mae was waiting. "Here he is" Sage exclaimed and Mae sat up almost as if she was about to get the cat handed to her. Mae began to talk to the cat in a voice that made sage smile, "you need to come over and see him after our shift tomorrow" Sage told her friend and Mae quickly agreed "I wouldn't miss a visit with Felix for the world".
