My eyelids fluttered open. My auburn coloured hair stuck out around my head in all directions. One cheek touched soft snow, like a pillow of ice. The ground glistened like a carpet of crushed diamonds in the early morning sunshine. I began to close my eyes and drift off to sleep when something inside me stopped myself.
I sat up abruptly I brushed my hand against my cheek, it was numbing and bright red. I shook the snow out of my hair and looked around.
The world looked like a shaken up snow globe and I was an ornament inside its winter wonderland. Snowflakes danced around my head settling onto my skin where they melted, just before landing.
A forest of evergreen pine trees were dotted through the snow in no particular order or pattern.
I looked down at myself and found I was wearing a denim jacket over a floral patterned dress and ankle boots. That's not exactly winter clothing.
What am I doing here? Who am I? I couldn't even remember my own name.
I stood up way too quickly and blood rushed away from my head making me extremely dizzy. Suddenly all the questions that were jammed in my head were all spinning round. I felt as if someone had shoved me from behind and everything went black...
