A/N This is going to be a rather long chapter, so let me know if you guys like that sort of thing and I'll make them longer from now on, but keep in mind that it would take longer for me to update but you would have more content. Or if you just want me to stick to regular length chapters that would have less content but you would get them more often.
They rode in silence until Evelyn switched on the radio. The song "Miss America " by J. Cole came blasting out of the radio, although it didn't faze Evelyn. She didn't jump an inch, just turned it down, looked at Marshall and said "You like J. Cole huh?" He just shrugged and said, "Yeah he made a good record."
"Ok, ok." She thought for a minute, "Hey where do you keep your CDs?" "Check the glove." She reached down and pulled out a small but packed to the brim, CD case from the glove compartment. She unzipped it and began looking inside. There was so many good albums. Good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar, Graduation by Kanye West, All Eyez On Me by 2Pac, The Black Album by Jay Z, and that's just to list a few
"Hot damn. You may be a creep but you sure do have bomb ass taste in music." "What made you think I didn't?" "No it's not that, but I just know that you said that most of what you listen to is like 99% hip hop. So I was just like "No way, I can't see somebody only sticking to one genre so tightly." But I have the proof in my hands right here. Evelyn flipped through the case some more. "Oooh, Watch The Throne." She remembered when she first heard that Kanye and Jay were coming out with an album together, she was so excited. She popped the CD out the case and pushed it into the disc player.
As she waited for the CD to play she laughed to herself as she flipped through some more. "What's so funny?" Marshall asked. As the first started song to play she paused it. "It's just, I kinda half expected to find one of your albums in here." Marshall laughed this time. "What, you think I just sit around listen to myself all the time?" "I don't know, do you?" Evelyn could barely get the question out, she was trying so hard to hold in a laugh.
"Of course not. I mean, sometimes I do go back and reminisce, but that's about it. I don't just sit around and have my own music playing 24/7." "Speaking of music, why in hell's bells do you still have portable CD player? I know you're completely technologically illiterate, but at least learn how to work an iPod nano."
"Truth be told I don't really want to." "But it's not even that difficult, you learned how to work that mixing board with all those buttons and switches and dials. All you have to do is-" She was cut short by Marshall saying, "But see, the mixing board was something I actually wanted to know and cared about how it worked. I couldn't care less about how to work an iPod nano." "I guess you got a point, carry on then."
Evelyn pressed play on the on the radio. Still looking through Marshall's CD case she started to sing along quietly to the first track titled No Church in the Wild. Marshall looked over at her and said, "Hey, you sing?" "What? Oh, no, I mean like to but I just mostly just do it at home or she I hear a song I like. "I wanna hear you." Marshall rewound CD and paused at the beginning. "Sing for me."
"Um, no." "Why not? Well first of all, you have asked a little nicer, and second I don't want to." "Come on. Do it or I'm turning this car right back around and we can go home." "That place isn't my home, your not my dad so stop acting like it, and if you do I'll jump right out this car." "Are you crazy? I'm on the highway and we're going 75 miles per hour." "I don't care, if you turn back around that's exactly what I'm gonna do." "Fine I won't. But I'm not gonna stop bothering you until you do." "Oh please. You don't know the kids I went to school with. I can ignore anything annoying." "Ok, then I guess you won't mind if I do this."
Marshall put his hand on her thigh and she promptly smacked it away. "Hell no. That's just gonna get your ass kicked." He put it back higher this time. "Stop it!" This went on two more times, until on the second, Evelyn brought his hand to her mouth and bit it. "Ow! What the hell? The fuck you bite me for?" "If I sing will you stop putting your hand on my leg?"
