DANIELLE POV
It had been a year since we met Josine, a year since Darla, a year since Alana started dating Jo, a year since I fell in love with her. It's been a crazy year for us. With music. We've met so many people on our journey as musicians, so many great talented people. But no one ever stood out to me as much a Jo.
Alana and Jo have had their ups and downs but they stayed together. Este still always looking out for us. I couldn't be anymore happier with what our life has given us. Grammy nomination, working with such amazing artist, creating great friends.
Tonight we were invited to a Dj set that I was not planning on going as always, it just wasn't for me. Usually on nights like this Josine would come over to keep me company. The door bell rang, I look over at the clock 8:30pm, always on the exact time she'd say.
"Horrible bosses 2 and white chocolate covered pretzels." Josine said barging in. I smiled as she walked passed me. I stopped and stared at her for a while.
"What is it? Do you not want to see this one? If not I can quickly grab another."
"No no no that's fine. Usual beer?" I always had a few of her favorite beers in the fridge. She nodded while she putting a pretzel in her mouth and placing the DVD in.
We were half way through the movie when something came over me. I need this girl. I cannot do this anymore. I see the way she looks at me, the way she treats me. I know she feels the same. She has to.
I paused the movie to get her attention. No, crap. What the hell am I doing this isn't me. She's my own sisters girlfriend.
"Is everything alright?" She asked. I lowered my head and my face began to feel heated up as tears streamed out of my face. I felt her hand on my chin turning my face towards her. "Hey, what is it?" Her voice so gently, so kind.
"Jo! I can't. I'm sorry."
"Can't what? Are you okay?"
I got up and left to my room I hoped she wouldn't follow but I knew she would. I sat on the edge of my bed and covered my face with my hands I felt her presence before she took a seat next to me. Jo had her arm around me. We stayed in silence for a while and eventually I placed my head on her shoulder. She kissed my head. No, no, no. This isn't helping!
"I love you, Josine" These words rolled out of my mouth before my mind thought of them. I heard her sigh. Shit, what did I do?
"I know" she spoke in her soothing voice. "I know, Danielle."
Minutes had passed before my eyes slowly began closing and right before I completely fell asleep I heard her say it.
"I love you, Danielle."
