The Haim sister were already on stage, leaving Darla and I backstage alone. We sat pretty near the stage, but not close enough for the crowd to spot us.

Darla seemed really needy after I propsed. All she wanted to do was hold hands, have my arm around her, "cute" stuff like that. I felt to guilty and terrible seeing Darla wear such a big smile on her face. I can't remember the last time she looked so happy.

"Babe, you've been awfully quiet. How come?" Darla asked as she took a strand of my hair a twisted it with her finger. Should I tell her or just let it go? "Jo, what's going on?" I heard concern in her voice.

"What would you do if a Haim sister came onto you?" I didn't keep my eyes off Alana. Man, those shorts were lucky to wrapped around a body like that. What was I saying..

"Nothing. I already have the sweetest, most loyal girlfriend. I mean fiancé." She gave me a sweet kiss on the cheek. Without a word, I got up and walked into the nearest room available. I sat down, covering my face with my hands.

This is not happening. There was a knock at the door, but I kept my shameful face hidden. Someone had sat down next to me. Darla's sweet perfume hovered underneath my nose.

"I know what you did." Her words hit me strong. "Este told me. She thinks I'm your friend. You took such a long time. I figured you went to grab a cup of coffee. I walked in and found two thirds of Haim. When I asked where Alana was, Este told me she was fooling around with a fan." Her voice was beginning to break.

"Darla, I.." She interrupted.

"When I saw you come out of that restroom with Alana around your arm and your hair messed up.." Darla paused. Her tone was a combination of disappointment and sadness. "We are going to forget this ever happened."

"No, Darla we are going to have to talk about this."

"Stop. We aren't speaking of this."

"I'm tired of this, Darla. We always push our problems aside. You always push our problems aside." Her hand foew across my face leaving a strong sting upon my cheek. Her lips almost immediately pressed against mine afterwards. I backed away.

"Jo, lets forget today."

"No, we can't" I could see anger build up inside Darla. She took off her ring while keeping her eyes locked with mine. She threw it hard against my shoulder and stormed out.

I grabbed the ring that had bounced off my body and unto the ground. I followed Darla out. She was headed for the stage.

"Darla, stop. Get back here." I called after her. Haim was finishing their drum finale. I could see Darla heading right toward Alana. She raised her hand before letting it smack across Alana's face.

The loud crowd suddenly fell dead quiet. Este and Danielle dropped their drumsticks. Alana ran off stage and found herself in my arms, letting out her pain through tears. I could see other side of the stage Darla shaking her head in disapproval, waving my car keys at me before walking out of the auditorium.

I began to focus on the crying girl in my arms. I hushed her as I ran my fingers through her hair. Este was apologizing to the crowd for what had happened. Danielle stood in shock, not knowing what to do. The two sisters walked off stage, towards us.

"What the hell was that?" Este was starving for answers.

"I.. I don't know.. I.." I was still suprised about what had just occurred. Alana separated her head from my chest and looked up towards me.

Her crying had dead down and she gave me a warm smile. This was killing me. She got on her tippy toes to leave a gentile kiss on my lips.

"I feel safe with you, don't ever let me go."Alana placed ber head back against my chest. Este pulled Danielle by the arm, they walked away leaving Alana and I alone.
