Danielle POV

Lanzo was still sleeping when I got up to get ready. I put my jeans on and went to Jo's dresser, hoping she didn't mind me borrowing a shirt. It was an old Strokes shirt, she had good taste.
Josine was already up and ready. She was sitting in a chair in the kitchen talking to someone. I walked past Blake who was still out. Este's face appeared once I got closer.
"Hey yelley. How'd you sleep?" Este said to me as if she wasn't gone all of yesterday. Jo got up and pulled out a chair for me and said good morning.
"You okay?" Este asked
"Where were you?" I took a seat. I must have sounded like a worried mother but we take care and look after one another.
"I told you, I went to run errands."
"What errands?" I asked. She was lying I knew it.
"We can do breakfast another time. I'll leave you two alone." Jo said getting up.
"No, I'll go. We'll be back in a bit." I told Este not wanting to miss a chance of being alone with Josine. "Lanzo is sleeping in the room." Este just nodded.

We went to a Denny's near by. It was close to her apartment so we decided to just walk. I desperately wanted her arm around. I don't get why Alana had to get to her first.
She opened the door for me, I wasn't really use to people doing that for me so I blushed a bit. The smell of pancakes surrounded me. We sat at a booth facing each other.
The waitress took our order and came back with drinks quickly. The whole time I could see Jo from the corner of my eye smiling, making me nervous.
"What?" I asked laughing a bit. I really hoped my face wasn't red. She continued smiling at me. "What is it?"
"You're so gorgeous." Josine responded. My face felt hot. I never knew what to say when people complimented me. It just made me nervous.
"You think so?" I pulled my hair behind my ear. The way she looked at me made my blushing grow redder. She looked at me in awe with a gentle smile.
"Do you want to go to the beach?" She asked smiling. I couldn't help but laugh.
"What?" I asked and continued to laugh a little. She got up and went to talk to our waitress. When she came back she took my hand to help me up. "What?" I was so confused.
She had a bag with our pancakes I'm guessing. Josine still held my hand. It took us about 30 minutes to get to the beach. We laughed the whole way there.
We sat down on the warm sand, Josine took out the pancakes and handed me mine.
"Hope you like cold pancakes"
"My favorite."
We sat quietly eating our pancakes, listening to the waves crash. I liked Jo's company. We didn't talk but her presence was comforting. I decided to break the silence.
"This is so nice. Pancakes and the beach." She started takes her shoes off and put them aside. Jo stood up and smiled down at me. I followed her lead and took my shoes off putting them next to hers along with my phone. We both rolled up our jeans.
She helped me up and kept her hand in mine as we walked over to the water. The sand began to grow colder due to the water.
"It's freezing!" I rushed away after barley touching the water.
"It's not that bad!" Jo yelled over the waves. She was nearly knee deep in the water. She laughed and came running towards me.
"No, no, no! Jo! Don't!" I started running away from her, laughing. We probably looked like a couple of 5 year olds running around. She finally caught up to me and swept me off my feet. She carried me to the water as I struggled to get away from her but nothing worked.
I finally pushed her hard enough causing both of us to fall into the water. The saltiness of the water was in my mouth we were both soaked. I jumped on her back when she got up and we both laughed.
The water was freezing but we were having so much fun we didn't even pay attention. After a bunch of splashing at other another I wrapped my legs around her body hugging her tight, shivering. We became silent as she held me tightly.
I felt her hand on my chin and she brought my face up to hers. We both were shivering. Our eyes met and neither of us looked away. There was a connection between us. That was undeniable.
I got off of her and we walked back to our shoes. The warm sand felt good between my frozen toes. Josine slipped her fingers in between mine. I looked over at her and she just looked straight ahead casually.
She threw away the rest of the pancakes that were covered in sand from when Josine chased me. She grabbed our shoes and we made our way back to her apartment.
