- (Season 1 Episode 1 timeline) -
It's a new year, meaning that I am finally a senior cadet. I can't believe it, I have been training for years and now I am on the highest team!
I walk into the locker rooms in hopes to find Adora, and to my luck, I find her admiring herself in the mirror playing finger guns with herself, "pew pew".
"First training of the year huh, you excited?" I ask, leaning against one of the lockers as she plays with the punching bag hanging in the middle of the room.
"Heck yeah!" She exclaims, "Oh, and have you seen Catra?"
"No, I was just about to ask you. I've been looking for you two all morning, I just assumed you went to warm up."
"All senior squadrons report to the training area immediately for evaluation." The loudspeaker interrupts our chit, so we make our way to the new training room.
"Hey, has anyone seen Catra?" Adora asks the others as we look around to see no sight of the missing cat, only to get a response of multiple head shaking and no's. "Not again..."
Commander Cobalt waltzes into the room, explaining the training mission to us. "At attention cadets. Your simulation is about to begin, here is your scenario. You'll be passing through the treacherous Whispering Woods to reach the heart of rebel insurgency, Bright Moon. Your mission is to defeat the Queen of the Princesses and liberate Bright Moon in Lord Hordak's name. Where is Catra?"
"-She'll be here" Adora replies.
"We promise." I add.
"Mm-hmm... The Whispering Woods is full of princesses. Vicious, violent, instigators. They will take you out if given the chance, don't give it to them." He concludes the explanation as the doors leading to the training room open showing an area filled with branch-like poles placed everywhere giving the "princesses" great places to hide. "Good luck recruits"
We all walk into the room, eyelids peeled in search of any robots, -ehem, sorry, I meant "princesses". Adora was the first to spot one, it started shooting lasers messily in every direction causing everyone to run and scream.
Kyle of course, was the first to get shot, causing him to once again lose. I don't even know why Shadow Weaver let him level up to the Senior Cadets, he's clearly not ready. "Bravo Kyle."
With the rest of us standing, we start to attack the bots when suddenly we come to a clearing. In replacement for the small bots is one giant one. I guess that is meant to be the 'Queen of the Princesses' then.
Adora and I jump onto it, jabbing off its laser shooters, whilst I sweep its legs making it fall into the giant hole made from, wait, where did that hole come from?
Once Adora takes one final hit, the bot gives a small explosion causing Adora and I to fall off. I quickly stand up and walk over to the bot, about to push it into the hole, when suddenly.
"Look who decided to join the party..." I state sarcastically as the cat girl runs past me and finishes my job for me.
"Okay, that was low-"
I am interrupted by a short squeal as the floor beneath Adora drops causing her to fall with it. Catra and I run over to the hole to see Adora hanging onto her stave that is wedged in the hole keeping her from falling.
"Hey Adora, how's it hanging?" Catra giggles.
"Catra, did you really show up late and let us do all the hard parts? That really is low, even for you." Adora backs up my statement.
"Aww, you guys know nothing's too low for me." Catra teases as I roll my eyes and reach down to grab Adora's arm.
"Let's get you out, you look stupid hanging down there." I laugh.
Once we pull her out, a voice on the loudspeaker speaks up. "Training exercise successfully completed."
The three of us walk back to the locker room and pack up our armor and weapons.
"You guys should have seen your faces! You were like 'AHHHH, NOO! Betrayal!!!!' hahahaha." Catra mimics us, falling to the ground for dramatic effect as if she'd been stabbed in the back, both metaphorically and literally.
I gently pull on her tail that is waggiling in the air. "Ow!"
"Come on now Catra, we're senior Cadets now. I can't believe you're still pulling such childish, immature- Is that a mouse!"
"WHAT? WHERE!" Catra jults up making Adora and I burst into laughter.
"Nice one Adora. Are you ever not going to fall for that Cat?"
"I don't know? Are you ever going to LET.IT.GO? That was one time..." Catra whiles as her fur relaxes.
"I know but for some reason, it's always funny!"
We all become a laughing mess after recalling all the other times we scared Catra with imaginary mice.
Though our bonding session is quickly interrupted by the sound of the ugliest voice in the Fright Zone. "Adora"
"Shadow Weaver," Adora acknowledges, standing up straight and saluting.
"You have done well, you to Daria. You two have completed your training courses in record time." Shadow says in an attempt to sound somewhat proud.
"Well, it wasn't just us you know, Catra did too!" Adora corrects her.
"Ah yes, how someone as unmotivated as you completed the course in that time, I'll never know."
"Always serving up to those pep talks huh Shadow Weaver?" Catra spits back.
"-Silence! Do not be flippant with me cadet." She says as threatening tentacles of black magic wirl in the air, slowly getting closer to Catra's face.
"Sorry, Shadow Weaver" Catra apologises in the least apologetic way possible.
"Adora, walk with me." She commands after retracting her magic. Adora looks back at us and we return her look with shrugs so she continues walking.
"Gosh what is that ladies problem, we should put her in the training session and see how long she survives."
"Yeah like come on boss, I actually won the session-" Catra's statement slows down as she looks at my knowing face. "Fine I may of cheated, but she doesn't know that!"
"Mm-hmm." I smirk "You just love stealing other people's credit don't you kitty cat? Anyways, let's go to the rooftop and wait for Adora."
"Don't call me that..."
