"Mama!" your 4 year old daughter, Lavender ran up to you.

"Yes, sweetie?" you asked.

She pointed to a light blue sparkly dress. "I want that dress, please mama." She started making puppy eyes which she knew you could not resist.

"Alright, alright, I'll get it." you told her.

You picked the dress and went to pay it as she started rejoicing.

"Thank you," you said, thanking the cashier.

"No problem." She said with a smile.

You set Lavender on your hip and walked out of the store.

"Mama?" She asked.

"Hm?"

"Where's my daddy?"

You froze.

"Everyone else has a daddy, except me. All of my friends." She continued.

"I'm sorry honey, I'll show you when we get home ok?" You told her.

"Really? Thank you, mama. I love you."

"I love you too sweetie." You smiled at her.

"Mama! Can you tell me about daddy now?" Lavender asked.

You blew out a breath of air.

"Sure honey, give me one second."

"Ok!"

What am I supposed to tell her? You thought. Oh you know, I ran away from your dad because I was scared.

You dragged your hands down your face before getting up and motioning for her to come sit on the couch with you.

"Your dad is a very kind man. H- he's in a band called Why Don't We and he's really loving and caring and- and-."

You couldn't do this. You felt like you were going to start crying a river.

"Mama don't cry." She said, hugging you.

"Oh honey..."

You felt like a bad parent, you couldn't even tell your own daughter about her father.

"Do you still love daddy?" She asked.

"I always will."

"Well if it is meant to be it will be." She said and you looked at her shocked.

"Where did you hear that?"

"I heard Miss Mia say it today."

"Oh ok."

"I love you, mama."

"Aww, I love you too, honey." You replied, kissing her forehead.

~a few weeks later~

You and your daughter were in a cafe which was a few blocks away from home when the bell at the top of the door rang indicating someone's arrival. You looked up and instantly froze. There standing at the door was Jack Avery, the father of your child and his other bandmates behind him.

His eyes scanned the room most likely for a vacant spot before landing on you and widening a bit.

You turned around swiftly to face Lavender. You needed to get out of here.

"Hon, finish your lunch quickly we need to go." You the and told her and she nodded.

"Y/N? Is that you?"
