As I was saying before, school is rough for butterflies apparently. I quickly found out 'little insects' like me are the minority and it doesn't help that my wings annoy everyone. I guess that raven girl is popular along with most of the dogs and cats. Sounds about right though. Those animals were the most loved. I never used to care for cats because my dad hated them. I've never really played with them before. Dogs, on the other hand, are my favorite. They're playful, loveable and sweet.. But they like to play with little bugs so I'm staying away from them. I'm really just staying away from everyone. Not even the little rat people care for me.

At least I excelled in some things. Music and art were ones. When I was little I was an amazing artist. I began creating tattoo designs for people at sixteen-.. now that I'm remembering this, all my tattoos were of flowers and nature.. No wonder I'm a butterfly..

In music I did well. We actually sang some of my favorite songs. I remember when I was in choir we sang old songs no one really knew. That's how these kids feel about my favorite songs but I love them. And here I thought music was lost..

Finally I got to gym class.. It wasn't just a regular gym class.

"Have you ever tried to fly?" The coach asked me and was trying to be patient.

"Ma'am, I don't even know how to flap my wings on command." I told her and was being truthful. All the people with wings were learning to fly. Well, most already knew kinda but I'm starting from 0..

"Alright," she sighed and walked behind me. She put her bare, freezing hand right between my wings. It scared me so badly I swung them shut without even knowing! She knew that'd happen and tried to move but got a little wack on the tip of her nose. I'm just glad I didn't hurt her. "They're certainly strong" she smiled and came back to the front of me. "This is something you'll have to figure out on your own. At home, have your parents move your wings back and forth till you can do it on your own" she told me.

"I don't have parents, I live alone" I told her and felt at a loss now. I have the ability to fly but I can't figure it out.

"Oh, I-Im sorry to hear.. Well, you can always have a friend help you instead" she smiled.

A friend?.. The first person that came to mind was that boy.. I don't even wanna see that guy again though. Maybe Laven would help me out?.. Or maybe she doesn't like me..

"Yeah" I nodded but knew I'd be on my own.

Gym class is going to be rough for me I guess. My last class is History. I'm glad I skipped first, that was Chem.

I walked up the stairs to the second floor and saw these cool pieces of art hung on the walls. They were lifelike, full body portraits of people from our past. I saw Queen Elizabeth, Napoleon, even president Biden. Apparently, during his four years of Presidency, everything began changing. Thank goodness I kinda died during that. I guess I'm just seeing the good part.

Finally I reached coach Hawkins class. I guess coaches teaching history never died. She turned out to be a new flying coach too. She's a dragonfly.

"I knew I'd have a new student today, I was hoping it'd be you" coach smiled and met me outside the door.

"Hoping? That's not good.." I gave a nervous smile.

"It's better than you realize," she laughed. She put her hand on my shoulder and gently turned my back towards the wall. I guess I was stopping people from going inside. "I've got a spot for you up front with me. I think you'll really enjoy my class. And I don't have uncomfortable seats either" she told me happily and pointed to her wings.

"That's great but.. up front? Aren't my wings a little big?" I asked and kinda lowered my head. I've climbed into my shell today after all this bad attention.
