He forgot to set an alarm and woke up later than he intended, which is exactly what happens when one can't fall asleep until after one AM. It wasn't as though he had any deadlines that morning, but he was hoping to catch up on some editing that he'd been putting off. His upload schedule was a myth at this point. George stretched his arms above his head and reached over to grab his cell phone from the bedside table. There were a few unread messages and emails waiting for him, but his immediate focus was on the multiple Twitter notifications indicating that Darryl and Zak had been argue-flirting again. Scrolling through Twitter first thing in the morning wasn't the healthiest of habits to have, but he was honestly only expecting to see what he had missed from happytwt. He wasn't anticipating being greeted with hundreds upon hundreds of Dream says hi! tweets. At the rate he was seeing them, it wasn't a shock that it was trending. He scrolled for a moment more before composing a post of his own.
@GeorgeNotFound: Who's Dream?
Twitter exploded. He saw the comments and retweets from his friends first.
@honkkarl: say hi! :D
@Quackity: yeah, say hi
@BadBoyHalo: Good morning owo
@sapnap: look who's finally awake
@GeorgeNotFound: I'm confused
He looked at the community replies. They varied between more say hello! repeats, confusion and assumed bandwagoning, general chitchat, and then the theories that Dream and Geore were soulmates. How they reached that conclusion he wasn't sure. Attached within the multitudes of replies were different versions of a Twitch clip from yesterday. He clicked on one of them.
"So what I'm hearing is that you'll stream with me the next time George does?" Sapnap's voice asked. There was a familiar laugh, one that he'd heard before in the background of off-stream conversations with his friend.
"Yeah. You get George to stream again before another month passes and I'll join." The voice was clearer than he'd heard over past calls. George couldn't prevent his usual open-mouth, half-smile in response to the pointed remark. The voice moved closer to the microphone a few moments later and said, "Tell George that Dream says hello."
That explained it. In a longer clip, Dream stated that he and Sapnap live together, the information clicking into place in George's mind. He knew that Sapnap had a roommate, and though he couldn't recall his name, he was sure that it wasn't Dream. He knew that it was something unique, though, a name he didn't hear often. He clicked on the user tagged alongside him in the clip and proceeded to follow the account.
@GeorgeNotFound: Hi @DreamWasTaken
He didn't get an immediate response. He was still waiting six hours later when his attention was grabbed by the feeling of cool ink on his skin as Asshole traced over the smile. He may have been in the middle of finally editing a video for his YouTube channel, but he wasted no time in grabbing one of his many markers from the cup on his desk. He liked to keep multiple markers around so he wouldn't have to search when he wanted to write a message.
