Chapter 7: Stupid me!

It's a time skip to lunch cuz it was gonna be pretty boring to make POV's for the parts in between so *shrug*

Maya's POV

I had just come back from the library, and was heading to the cafeteria We'd had a free period, so obviously I spent it at the "book haven." Basically I was someone people would call a "nerd."

My name is Maya Das, I was born here in New York, but my roots are Indian. I had long, slightly wavy black hair, but it was a bit frizzy. I had regular dark brown eyes. My skin was a light tan, but it was a little uneven. I literally always wore an oversized hoodie and black leggings. I was no fashion statement.

Today was the first day of school, and I love it since it's always so easy. But, of course, it gets boring. But not this time. Today, in my first period, there was a girl who really attracted my attention. She had a deep tan, mahogany, choppy hair, and eyes that seemed to change colour. Yes, I was lesbian. Laugh all you want. Anyway, I didn't know her name, but I heard her dad was Tristan Mclean! Tristan Mclean, the all-time famous movie star! Pretty, and famous!

I made my way to lunch, and went to get my food. They were serving sandwiches today. Suddenly, I heard a clear laughter to my left. I turned to see some kids laughing about something, and there I saw her again. The girl from my geography class.

'Seriously, Leo?' She said. 'Yeah, you had a nice plan, but we did some stuff too!'

'Oh c'mon, Beauty Queen, let's all just admit I was amazing.' the Latino kid named "Leo" laughed.'

I have to agree with Piper.' A guy with close-cropped blonde hair chuckled. Piper. That was her name? It was so pretty!

The kids got their lunch and made their way to an empty table. They talked and laughed, until Piper said something and made her way towards me. Wait, why was she coming to me? Oh, she was walking towards the counter to get a sandwich. Ugh, stupid Maya! I watched as the little braided parts of her hair swished back and forth, and how her eyes changed colours from blue to green to brown. She was naturally beautiful, but of course I didn't have the courage to talk to her. She walked back to her table, said something, and gave the blonde boy a little kiss on the lips. Oh, of course she was single! Never mind, my dreams were shattered.

I just made my way to a small empty table at the back and ate my lunch, all alone. I saw Piper and her friends get up and walk out of the room. I sighed and went to put my tray back, and head to my next class.
