4 Years Later
Hana's POV
"Welcome to Security." I stated to the Woodberry people who fled from the Governor to us. I'm now 18 years old, so much has happen and so much has changed over the course of the 4 years. We fortified the prison, allowed new people into the group, and got into a battle with a guy who is called, the Governor. Appa and Maggie took a hit for the group when we first met the Governor, but thankfully they are still alive. I eventually showed Rick the pipe bombs and frag grenades, he wasn't made but amazed that I would try to make such weapons. It turned out to be affective to distract herds of walkers and overall win the battle against Woodberry.
A lady named Michonne, who joined our group a few years back, helped me find a weapon I am finally comfortable with: a sword. It felt right. Swords didn't make too much noise and it gave me full control. I didn't have to worry about cleaning the guns or not having enough ammo. Although Michonne used a katana, she still taught me everything she knew.
Carl has changed the most over the course of four years. After finding out what happened to Lori, I understood why he and Rick had a mental breakdown. Rick eventually came to terms of what happened, however, Carl let the death of Lori overcome his life. I still care deeply for Carl, but he pushed me away hard. Beth 'helped' Carl through these hard times, and they eventually started to date. It hurt me a lot and although he was a jerk to me at times, he had his moments where he would come around.
Well, they dated for two years before she died. No one expected it, it happened so suddenly. After that Carl had gotten even worse. He drank more, messed around with all girls the came into the prison, and worked out whenever. Carl is depressed and suffering, but he hides it with confidence and a tough guy act. A tattoo artist that join the prison a year ago gave Carl some tattoos. It honestly looked hot on him, but it pissed off Rick.
As for me, I did do a lot of changing. I had responsibilities in the group as a medic, and it made me more valuable then I would have ever think. On one occasion I was kidnapped and was held as bribery by some another group, until they realized I could help the leader's kid. After that encounter I was more patient and calm around everyone which scared appa. Appa wanted me to release my emotions and to scream but I just couldn't. I was scared, but now I'm back safe and sound thanks to Daryl and Michonne who saved me and we also manage to find a common ground with the other group. They gave us food and supplies, and we helped them medically. So there wasn't a point to make it into a big deal.
There was one night where I woke up from a nightmare a few months ago. I went to walk it off before I bumped into Carl. We ended up talking for a while until the sun raised. It was a lot of him apologizing to me for how he acted, which I appreciated. He shared a bunch of stories and so did I, it was like I was meeting him for the first time again. After that night we started talking more regularly, but only as friends.
"Thanks for covering me, what was the excuse this time?" Carl said as he finally joined me in welcoming the people of Woodberry.
"I told Rick you had diarrhea." I answered trying to keep a straight face as we lead the large group to cell block D.
"What the fuck Hana?!" He groaned as he pushed me to the side gently.
"Ew, get your diarrhea hands off of me." I laughed as I regained my balance.
"Shhh! Some of the babes back there might hear that!" Carl hushed me. It was weird to hear this newly confident Carl sometimes. I missed it when he would stutter over his words.
"Well I'm starting to run out of excuses for you, maybe if you start helping out around here then you wouldn't have diarrhea." I said as we entered the cell block.
