Carl's POV

"Okay how about her over there?" Nathan asked as he leaned over the railing to look over the common area where all the Woodberry people were getting comfortable.

"Maggie? Dude she's 1. older and 2. married to the guy next to her." I answered laughing.

"Okay so MILF energy!" Ethan cheered. Patrick, Ethan, and Nathan were childhood friends. Ethan and Nathan are 19 year old twins: blonde hair and green eyes. They had a similar build to Patrick whose 20; tall, slender, but muscles. Apparently the twins use to be big, but after they hit their teens they decided to do something about it so they could outrun the walkers. They didn't look like such bad people, I wouldn't mind being friends with them.

"Okay, but how about Hana? What's her deal?" Patrick asked getting serious as the twins 'oohed'.

"What about her?" I asked as I fixed the sheriff's hat on my head.

"Is she single? Come on man, you got to help me out. It's like love at first sight." Patrick said as he put down the comic book he was looking at.

"Dude... what if they're dating?!" Ethan asked as I spit out the water in my mouth.

"No. We are just friends. You guys are the first guys close to her age she has seen in forever. But if I'm honestly speaking, I would steer clear from her." I stated.

"Why is that?" Patrick asked.

"Well she's been apart of this group forever, she's like the family favourite." I said.

"Oh she's my favourite." Nathan whispered, but I just ignored it.

"If anything happens to her, you will pray that you didn't fuck up too badly so you can live another day." I continued getting questioning looks from them. "Okay, you see the guy next to Maggie? That's Glenn, her dad. He looks friendly, kind, weak... but the moment you cross his line he will not hesitate to kill you and he is one fast guy so you better run. Daryl over there hates everyone. Not a people person, but he has a soft spot for the main group and sees Hana as a kid he never had. Me personally I will kill you if you hurt her, same with most of the group. So be careful with who you fuck with her." I warned.

"If you ask me it seems like you like her. You called dibs yet?" Patrick asked.

"Dude no, and dibs? We are not fucking kids."  I groaned knowing that what I had just said went in on ear and out the other.

"Well I for one am not interested. There so many other fishes here in this sea." Nathan said as he spotted two girls walking with one another.

"Well I for one don't want the other fishes. Just look at her!" Patrick said just as Hana walked into the cellblock and walked over to Dad to give him a paper, most likely a list of people who are qualified to go on runs and fend of the walkers.

"The way the the carries that sword, badass." Ethan added as Patrick nodded his head.

"Well this is my cue to leave, if you do not mind I will be back later. Fill me in on anything that happens." Patrick said as he got up and made his way to Hana.

"2 whole candy bars that he gets with Hana." The twins said in unison.

"You know what? I'm in, he has no chance what so ever." I agreed. The next few days was painfully embarrassing for Patrick and his attempts to 'win' Hana over. Everything he tried to do was just not working. Hana would hang out with him, him and the twins, or all of us all together from time to time, but she mostly kept to herself or help Hershel or Carol. Hana always pushed Patrick to the side with made me feel good, but there were the days where she would flirt back which stung me a little. What was I jealous of and for what? There are other girls here, but it wasn't the same: I guess it was the connection.

It was late at night when I took over watch guard duty relieving Sasha and Daryl from their post. I didn't really expect much, there was the walkers, which was usually and occasionally a few people walking out and about in the fields then they would return to their blocks. "Psst!" Someone said catching my attention. I got up from the chair in the guard town and looked over the railing to see Hana holding a basket. "Can I come up?" She asked as I gesture my hand upwards to signal that it was okay.

"What are you doing up still?" I asked as I opened the door for her.

"It was a tough day today, made it hard to sleep. Then I remembered that you have guard duty tonight and so I thought you would like something to eat!" Hana answered as she handed me the bag that contained a sandwich and water before leaning over the railing.

"Awe thank you! I really needed this!" I said as I immediately sat down on the chair next to her and ate it. "How did everything go with Patrick the other night?" I asked as I watch her face cringe.

"The other night was just plain sad for him. When he asked to hang out I thought he had something in plan but all he wanted to do was fuck. It was kind of desperate in a way. Even when I told Patrick that I wasn't interested he kept insisting so I just left, but-" "But?!" I exclaimed feeling my heart drop. "What do you mean?! Did something happen?"

"Carl, relax." Hana giggled as she turned to look at me. "Nothing happen, I don't think he's that type of guy. But he did grab onto my wrist and try to convince me. Eventually I just stormed off annoyed at him and don't get me wrong, Patrick and the twins are nice and all but I would much rather be friends with them. I'm just not interested in them." Hana explained as a wave of relief washed over me.

"I'm glad to hear that you are safe. You sure he didn't do anything?" I asked again as Hana rolled her eyes.

"What's with this caring attitude? And yes. I am sure he didn't try to do anything." She answered while leaning on the railing, I joined her as I lit a cigarette.

There was an awkward silence between us before Hana spoke up, "You know Rick is really proud of you?"

"I'm sorry, what?" I asked as I exhaled the smoke.

"Rick is happy you are finally coming out of your shell again, we all missed you. It's nice." She said as there was a silence again.

"I never left, but I'm glad to hear." I mumbled as I watch Hana smile from the corner of my eyes.

"I know you haven't, but still... I miss this." Hana responded as I carefully placed my arm on her shoulder; I felt her tense up, but then relax.

"Yeah, I miss this too." I said back as she leaned her head against my side.
