Liam~

After Louis left in search of the flower both Zayn and I remained at Harry's side, one of us watching out of the window waiting for Louis' return. It's been hard to watch, with every hour that passes Harry's condition gets much worse. We were both surprised to hear that the prince had gone missing, but had faith that he would return with the flower safely. It was another quiet hour when Zayn suddenly rose from his place at the window.

"The prince has returned!" he called out.

"Stay with him, I will go to meet him." I say to Zayn, before rushing out of the room.

-

"Did he have the flower?"

"I have no idea, the king won't let anyone in to see him. He's locked in the dungeons." I reply.

Both of our attention is drawn to Harry as he lets out a few loud strangled breaths.

"How long do you think he has?" I ask quietly.

"Not long, the poison has almost run its full course." Zayn says, pausing. "If we don't get him this antidote soon, he isn't going to survive."

"I have an idea." I suddenly announced before leaving the room once more.

-

"Food for the prince." I say, bowing my head respectfully to the guards outside of the dungeons.

They take a look at me and the plate full of food in my hand and decide to let me pass.

I don't know what I'm expecting or hoping for when I reach Louis cell, but this is the best idea I could think of. One of the guards led the way and unlocked the door once we reached the cell. Cautiously, and very aware of the guards watchful eye, I step into the cell.

Louis looks back at me, emotionless.

"Set it over there." He says in a low voice, only taking his eyes away from me to gesture to the corner of his cell. I follow his gaze and set the plate where he says.

"Thank you." He mumbles. Louis gets up and walks across the cell to where the plate is set. He stands for a moment with his back to both me and the guard, he appears to be investigating the food on the plate.

Without being shown any sort of hope, I turn away from him. Only stopping when he speaks again.

"Wait. I couldn't possibly eat this. It's disgusting." He pauses turning to face me. "In the state it is in, am not sure this is fit for anyone." He says, emphasizing every word. He sets the plate back down and moves back to the place he was seated earlier.

I go to pick up the plate, but this time there is a small trampled flower tucked in between the two pieces of bread. My heart practically leaps put of my chest, but I am quickly reminded by the guard standing in the door so I keep my composure. I bow my head towards Louis' direction, take the plate and leave the cell.

I walk swiftly back out of the dungeons, but before I leave one of the guards stop me.

"You. Stop." The guard calls from behind me. My heart pounds in my chest as I turn around to face him.

"Not all of us can be as stubborn as our royal highness." He says shrugging and taking a piece of bread. I give him a polite smile before turning back around and quickly leaving the dungeons before anyone can catch on to what's happened.

I take the flower off of the plate and begin sprinting with full force back to the infirmary.

"I got it!" I call out to Zayn before I even re-enter the room. He is on his feet and already preparing the mix of ingredients he needs for the antidote when I enter.

"It's in rough shape. Will it even work?" I ask.

"I'm not sure, but we have to try." He replies.

While Zayn works I take my place back at Harry's side. Harry's breathing is shallow and his skin is even more pale and soaked with sweat than it was before.

"We have to force him to swallow this." Zayn says joining my side with some sort of concoction. "You hold his nose, while I pour this in his mouth" I do as he says and he begins to pour the liquid into Harry's mouth.

"Okay, there we go. Now, turn him on his side, hold him down, I'm going to monitor his pulse, things are probably about to get rough." I place my hands firmly on Harry's shoulders, not entirely sure of what I'm preparing for.

I don't have to wonder for long though, when Harry begins seizing aggressively. His entire body was tensing relentlessly, but I did as I was told, holding him tight on the bed. Harry released several strangled cries as his body thrashed about.

The seizing only stopped when Harry's head lulled to the side. In a panic I looked up and met Zayn's eyes.

"His pulse is gone..." he says baffled "... i don't understand... that should've worked." Zayn stuttered.

"No... no... Harry?" I start shaking his shoulders, urging him to wake up. "Please come on... I can't lose you... please..." I mumbled, the tears already forming in my eyes.

"I'm so sorry Liam, there's nothing more we can do." Zayn says. He pulls me into a tight hug and holds me to him tightly, he stays quiet while I cry into him. We stay tightly wrapped around each other for quite some time, it's peaceful in Zayn's embrace and I'm not ready to face anything yet.

"Get a room you too, I'm here too ya know." A quiet voice speaks up. I look over and see Harry, still ghastly and soaked in sweat, sleepily grinning up at me.

"You're alive?" I gasp and pull myself out of Zayn's embrace. Zayn and I both look at each other and watch his face go red, as I feel mine flush as well.

"Na, I'm just a ghost come back to haunt you is all." He jokes again. I can tell he is still in pain from the poison, but I can't stop myself from laughing and hugging him.

"It's good to have you back buddy." I mumble happily.
