Louis~

As my father promised I stayed locked into the dungeons for two days. Two days without any word if Harry is alive or not. I began to assume the lack of news meant he hadn't survived, I know it was silly of me to assume either way but the idea felt logical enough.

I suppose the time came that my father finally decided I had received enough punishment, when two guards came and unlocked my cell door. I'm sure my father was looking to speak with me upon my release, but i'm not looking to deal with him right now.

I arrived at the infirmary to find it quiet and the door opened a crack. I inhaled deeply before pushing the door open and stepping inside. My eyes look to the bed, on which a dying Harry had laid just days before, to find it empty. It was hard enough as it was not to jump to conclusions, but the empty bed just confirmed what I had already feared.

The grief began swelling inside but instead of letting the wave crash over me, I just sat on the edge of the bed and placed my head in my hands.

There's so much I wish I could've said to Harry, so many things I need to thank him for.

When I hear chatter outside of the door I don't lift my head, instead passing it off as some servants walking the castle. It's only when the door opens again when I finally look up.

"Sire?" A very frail Harry stands in the doorway, he has a blanket draped around his shoulders and Liam is by his side, essentially holding him up.

"Harry?" My voice came out small and weak. Liam assists Harry to the bed and seats him next to me.

"I'll leave you two be, I'll be outside with Liam if you need me." Liam says. Harry gives him a quiet nod before leaving the room so it's just Harry and I. My eyes have yet to make their way to look at Harry's face. I think a part of me is still afraid I will lose him, or he'll turn to dust like in my dream.

"You're alive?" It sounds stupid but that was the only question coming to mind.

"I hear I have you to thank for that." Harry says. "Liam told me everything."

"You shouldn't be the one thanking me, I should be thanking you. You did save my life after all."

"Guess we are even then?" Harry chuckled. This brings me to laugh as well, and I finally look at him. His eyes look bright and cheery, despite how sunken and ill the rest of him appears.

"Even it is." I pause. "Why did you do it though? You knew it was probably going to kill you and you still did it, why?" I can't help myself from asking.

"It was common sense really, the world wouldn't notice if I had died. Besides, I care about you Louis. In more than just the- im your servant and have to sense." He says shrugging and pulling his blanket tighter around him.

"That's where you're wrong though, killing you would kill me. That's why I wouldn't let you die, especially not without saying thank you. Not even just for this either, sometimes you say things or you do things and you don't even realize but it means the world to me." I feel tears starting to form in my eyes. "I can't imagine what living without you would be like." The tears start leaking down my cheeks now and I look down at my lap.

Harry stays quiet for a while before he grabs my face and turns it to face his. "Then let's never live apart." He says in an almost whisper. Our faces are inches apart now and my eyes begin to wander around his face, eventually making their way to his lips. His breathing is soft against my skin and before I know it our lips make contact.

Harry hesitates at first but slowly eases into the kiss. He presses his body closer to mine and deepens the kiss. My heart is pounding in my chest and a part of me wonders if Harry can feel it too.

"Please never make me save you again." I say in between gasps after we separate for air.

"Only if you promise to kiss me again." He says back.

"That's an easy promise." I beam at him. He yawns, evidently tired and still recovering from the poison. "How about you get some rest." I suggest patting the pillow on the bed. Harry nods and lays himself into bed. I get up and begin walking out to leave him to rest, when his voice stops me.

"Stay?" His voice sounds tired and I think he's already half asleep.

"Sure." I make my way back to the bed and lay down next to him. He snuggles up close to me. "Can I ask you something Harry?"

"Hm?" He mumbles sleepily.

"When the time comes for me to rule, will you rule by my side? As an equal I mean, not a servant."

"Of course sire, it would be my honor." He places a kiss on my neck and nuzzles his head onto my shoulder and it isn't long after until we both fall asleep.
