“Grabe!   What a day!”   Sheryl plopped down on the airport seat as they waited for the last flight from Davao to Manila.    Earlier, they had caught the first flight from Manila to Davao to attend Raffy’s late morning wedding.

Fran let out a tired smile.  She felt spent, but her mind was racing, pondering on her life.

“Ang galing din ng lovestory ni Raffy at Dulce, ano?”   Sheryl muttered wistfully.  “High-school sweethearts…..naghiwalay….nag-abroad yung isa……tapos nagkita ulit after so many years….destiny.”

“Oo nga.”   Fran whispered.

Sheryl stole a glance at her friend.   “Parang may kilala akong ganyan din ang kuwento.”

“Sino?”   Fran raised her brows, feigning innocence.

“Basta, ung kakilala kong yan, naku, ang daming kyeme…..eh obvious namang in-love pa sila sa isa’t isa!”

Fran sat up, confusion written on her face.    “Sabi mo nung isang araw, Move Forward……ngayon naman, ang daming kyeme….ano ba talaga?”

Sheryl laughed.  “O, defensive ka?   Ikaw ba yung tinutukoy ko?”

Fran couldn’t help laughing with her.

“At saka, wala namang contradicting sa sinabi ko ah..”   Sheryl continued.   “Puwede namang – move forward to the next chapter of your lovelife….di ba?”

Fran gave her a look.   “Actually, I followed your advice.   Kumikilos na ako.”

“Really?  Sa lovelife?”   Sheryl sat up.

“Basta….sasabihin ko din sa ‘yo….when the time is right.”   Fran smiled mysteriously.

Fran couldn’t believe her eyes as she parked her car in front of her house after hearing Sunday mass.   A familiar silver BMW was parked nearby.   She stood on her driveway as Gavin alit from his car and watched him take tentative steps towards her.

“Hi.”   He hesitated.

“Hi…..anong…ginagawa mo dito?”   Fran noted the tension on his face.

“Uhm, can we talk?”

“Sige, come in.”  Fran unlocked her gate and front door, and let him in.   Faye was at her restaurant and their helper was on her day-off.   Gavin waited as she prepared two glasses of iced tea and some cookies, and placed them on the center table.

“So, what’s up?”   Fran sat on the other end of the couch.   She was feeling quite nervous at this surprise visit but she didn’t show it.

“Mabel and I talked.”, Gavin said quietly.

Somehow, Fran was not surprised.   “I see……so, okay na kayo?”

Gavin nodded.   “Yeah, we cleared up a lot of things.”

“That’s good.”   Fran smiled faintly.

Gavin held her gaze.   “And she cleared up all of my doubts, too.”

“That’s good to hear.”

“Fran, I’m sorry for doubting you.”

She shrugged.   “Normal reaction…..I don’t blame you.”
