“Sir, hindi talaga puwede.  Kung ipipilit nila, it’s either i-move ang target dates or dagdagan ang programmers.”  Fran reasoned out with Henry.   Just when all project plans were approved and all project specifications were agreed upon, Sales and Marketing had to come up with a large-scale promo blitz that would mean a major shakeup of their target dates.

“O sige, Fran… make a detailed study first.   Just look into their requirements and if we need to add programmers, we’ll just outsource.   You know we can’t set this aside.   It could translate into millions of pesos for the company.   Balikan mo ako mamaya, okay?”  Henry smiled kindly and tapped Fran on the shoulder as he left her cubicle.

Fran stomped into Sheryl’s cubicle next to hers and plopped herself on the visitor’s chair.

 “Aargh!!!”, she screamed silently.

Sheryl watched her, amused.   “Ano, kaya pa ba?”

“Nananadya na talaga yang Gavin na yan ha.”  Fran massaged her temples, feeling a headache coming on.

“Kung gusto mo, tatawagan ko yung kakilala kong agency.  Puwede tayo kumuha ng programmer sa kanila, kahit contractual.”,  Sheryl suggested.

“O sige, at least may fallback tayo…..”   Fran sighed deeply.   “Kaso, kahit magdagdag tayo ng tao, syempre tuturuan mo pa yun.”

 “Ganun talaga.  Kaysa wala.”

“As if naman may choice tayo.   Syempre, dapat ibigay ang gusto ng customer.”

Sheryl gave her a sly smile.  “Landiin mo na lang kasi si Mr. X… I’m sure lalambot yun.”

Fran was shocked.  “Landiin talaga ha?   Ikaw kaya gumawa nun.”

“Talaga?  Payag ka na landiin ko siya?”

“Sira!  Magkakape na nga lang muna ako sa baba….  Gusto mo sumama?”

Sheryl laughed, shaking her head at how Fran evaded her question.   “Ikaw na lang…tapos na ‘ko.”

 Fran shrugged and stepped out.

“You did what?”    Albert, head of operations, gaped at Gavin.

Gavin sneered.  “I’m just having a little fun, pare.”

“A little fun ha.  Baka mag-backfire yan sa ‘yo.  Buti lumusot kay Henry.”

“Madali lang yun.  I told Henry that it was an honest mistake….that we totally forgot to include that promo blitz in the list of requirements…”
