~in The Night~

A few hours have passed and your eyes begin to droop, you yawn quietly as to not attract any attention, yet you fail.

"tired?" Erik inquires, observing your state as you prop up your head with your hand and your eyes begin to droop again.

"very" you reply, too tired to give more than a simple one word answer.

"Well it's too dark to set off back to the compound, it appears we'll have to stay the night and wait til morning" Charles says, running a hand through his hair as he sighs.

"I have a spare bedroom if you'd like to stay in there but one of u will have to take the couch" you reply slightly more awake at the promise of sleep.

"ill take the couch" Erik says while he makes himself comfortable.

"then ill take the spare bedroom" Charles says in a chipper tone, glad to not be sleeping on the couch.

"ill get you a blanket, it can get cold at night" you say to Erik as you begin to leave with Charles.

"follow me" you say to Charles as you lead him to the spare bedroom.

"let me know if you need anything, my bedroom is just across the hall" you say with a faint yet tired smile, you close the door and get some blankets and a pillow for Erik.

You bring them to the living room, as you walk in you see Erik layed along the couch, his head propped up on the arm of the couch and his feet hanging over the other end, he lays peacefully watching you walk around with a smile.

"here" you say placing them on the coffee table in front of the couch.

"thank you" Erik says quietly as he sits up and places the pillows on the couch.

"let me know if you need anything, my room is just down the hall and I'm a light sleeper" you reply with a smile as you start to walk away.

"good night lily" Erik says quietly as you walk away, thinking you can't hear him yet you can, you smile to yourself as you walk back to your room.

You get yourself ready for bed and climb in, you stare up at the ceiling, unable to sleep as your mind is hyperactive with thoughts about your reunion with erik.

Eventually you're able to fall asleep, but as soon as you do a nightmare takes hold of your dreams, unable to escape it you watch as it unfolds.

-the dream-

You lay in bed about to fall asleep in your family home when a troop of soldiers burst through the front door, the sound makes you jump causing you to knock over the lamp at your bedside table.
They hear noise coming from upstairs and investigate, you hear their footsteps coming closer so you hide in your closet, peaking through the gap between the doors to see when they leave.
You notice they have guns and you cover your mouth keeping yourself quiet, but you back up into the wall causing a quiet thud to sound from the closet.

One of the soldiers notices and walks closer to the door, his hand reaching for the handle when another soldier walks into your bedroom.

"hurry up we don't have all day, just find the mutant and let's go!"

The soldier leaves the room as he heard nothing else come from the closet, as you hear their footsteps drift away you open the closet and emerge only to see the soldier towering over you.
You were about to scream when he covered your mouth and picked you up, carrying you downstairs where you saw your family restrained and gagged, your mother, father, little brother and sister.

Soon enough you too were restrained and gagged.

Another man walks into the room.

"so which of you is the mutant? Hmm?" he says, impatiently tapping his foot against the wooden floor sending small taps into the void of silence that followed his question.

"oh that's right, you can't talk" he says erupting into laughter along with the soldiers.

He walks up to your mother and takes off her gag.

"now tell me who is the mutant?" he says as he leans in closer to listen.

"there are no mutants here, please just let us go, we won't tell anyone" your mother pleas with the man.

He tuts disapprovingly.

"see that's where your wrong, I know your hiding a mutant. Now we can do this the easy way...or the hard way, whatever is your preference" he says his last words with a sadistic smile on his face.

Your mother leans in closer to the man as if to indicate that she will tell him who the mutant is, he moves in closer too, smiling, she spits in his face and leans back.

"I'm not telling you shit!" she screams as she's gagged once more.

"well I see we chose the hard way, not what I would have recommended" he says as he takes off his blazer and slowly rolls up his sleeves.

"no where we're we? Ah yes the hard way." he says as he punches your her in the face.

You scream as you watch his fist pound into her face again and again, tears streaming down your face when you see her face swollen and bloody. This gets his attention and he begins to walk over to you.

"ah now who do we have here?" he says as he removes your gag.

"lily" you say whilst sniffling in an attempt to hold back your tears.

"well hello there lily, I'm sebastian but you can call me Shaw" he says with a smile as he kneels before you.

You take the opportunity to headbutt him, he recoils in pain.

"you little shit!" he shouts as he's about to hit you, his fist stops, he tries to move but he can't, he's frozen.

You smirk at his helpless reaction, you're about to continue when one of the soldiers knocks you out, freeing Shaw from the hold you had on him.

"well that didn't take long" Shaw says as he cracks his neck.
