Nagito and I sat on his couch, him sitting on my lap as I held him close. Neither of us said anything. The silence being peaceful. Nagito's fingers gently traced my back as I ran my fingers through his fluffy white hair. Our foreheads rested against one another's, our eyes closed as we basked in each other's company.
After months of falling in love with this boy, I could officially call him my boyfriend. It felt as if a large weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I no longer had to lug around feelings that I wasn't sure would ever see the light of day.
When the record player stopped playing on its side and the needle returned, Nagito and I opened our eyes, giggling as we locked eyes. I kissed his temple, and he moved his head to kiss my lips. "What time are your parents expecting you to be home?"
"I don't think they care, as long as I keep them updated. Did you want to come home with me?"
"Actually, I thought you could spend the night here," he shyly replied. "I mean, we're already here."
"That is true." I nodded. "I will need to call my parents first."
"How about you call them while I prepare the bedroom," he said as he stood up.
"Sounds good."
Nagito smiled, cupped my cheeks, and pecked my lips before walking upstairs to the bedroom.
As I called my parents, what Nagito said about preparing the bedroom suddenly panicked me. What did he mean by prepare the bedroom? I knew he slept there the night before, unless he hadn't, and was just changing sheets or something. But what if he was expecting something more from me? What if he was hoping to have sex with me?
"Hajime?" dad answered. "Is everything alright?"
"Oh, uh, yeah. Everything is fine."
"You don't sound fine. What's wrong?"
"It's nothing," I assured him. "I just wanted to let you know that Nagito and I are going to spend the night at his place, you know, since we're already here."
Dad sighed. "Hajime, I was young once, too-"
"N-not like that!" I exclaimed.
He laughed. "Okay, okay. Listen, whatever the two of you decide to do is your own business. Your mom and I know that the two of you will make safe and smart decisions, so we're not worried about what the two of you decide to do. We are here for you and love you no matter what, okay?"
"Thanks, dad."
"Of course." His voice muffled for a moment. "Your mom wants to know if the two of you finally confessed your feelings."
"We did," I whispered.
Mom's voice was muffled in the background, but I could make out "Use a condom."
"Mom!"
Dad laughed as he wished us a goodnight and hung up.
I really wasn't ready to have sex with Nagito. I knew tonight was a special night, but I wasn't in the right mind set to want to have sex with him. Whenever we'd decide to have sex, it'd be after an actual conversation about it and not some spur-of-the-moment thing. I'd want to romance Nagito first, make him feel special and make the night special. He deserved that.
But if Nagito wanted to have sex tonight, would I make him insecure by telling him I didn't? Would it upset him? Tonight was supposed to be a special night, and I didn't want to ruin it by making him sad or feel undesired, especially when he was.
"Hajime," Nagito called out from the top of the banister. He was already dressed and changed into a pair of pajamas. "I put some clothes on the bed for you to change into."
"Thanks," I said, forcing a smile as I walked up the stairs.
Nagito tilted his head. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm good."
"No, you're not," he sighed, crossing his arms. "Did something happen with your parents? Do they want us to come home?"
"No, they were just... teasing a bit."
"Do they know about us?"
"I'm pretty sure everyone knows about us," I chuckled. Placing my hands on his shoulders, I sighed. "Nagito?"
"Y-yes?"
"Would it be okay if we didn't... have sex tonight?"
"H-Hajime!" Nagito squealed. "I-I wasn't even thinking about that."
Slapping my hands over my face, I groaned. "I'm sorry."
"No, don't be," he cooed, prying my hands away from my face. "I think it's sweet that you thought about that, but all I want to do with you tonight is hold you."
"Really?"
Nagito nodded firmly. "I'm going to use the bathroom. My bedroom is right in there. I'll be there in a moment. Oh, and if you need to use the bathroom, it's right here."
"Okay." I walked into Nagito's bedroom. It was bare, with only a sleek black dresser, a lamp in the corner, and a king sized bed with dark green sheets. The walls were all bare, giving the room no personality at all. I couldn't imagine wanting to sleep in a room like this every night.
A pair of green pajama pants and his favorite white shirt with a red cross design laid on the bed. I quickly changed into the clothes, loving how much they smelled like him. Nagito knocked on the door, and I let him know I changed. Nagito smiled giddily as he slipped into the bed and opened his arms. "Come here."
Crawling under the blanket, I snuggled up into Nagito's side and rested my head against his chest. Nagito hummed happily. "I've been wanting to hold you like this for so long?"
"Really?"
"You were always the one holding me. You never got to be held and experience the feeling of being held by the person you love the most." Nagito kissed my forehead and ran his fingers through my hair. "I don't want you to feel like you have to be the one who has to hold me all the time. It's always nice to be held, and I'll always hold you whenever you need me to."
My grip on him tightened. "I love you so much."
"I love you, too. ...Hajime?"
"Yes?"
"Are things going to be different now?"
"Not really," I replied. "The only difference is that we're dating each other now, so I guess it will feel more... romantic? Nothing major between us will change, though. Why?"
"I'm just a scared of things changing."
Lifting my head up, I rested my chin on his chest and stared up at him. "Even if things were to change, my feelings for you will not change. Nothing can change that."
"Or anyone?"
I shook my head. "There isn't anything anyone could say that would make me stop loving you. I promise. No one." Nagito smiled, and I leaned up to peck his lips before laying my head back on his chest.
He was right. Beingheld by the person I loved the most was amazing.
I'm sorry it took extra long to get this chapter out. Work and school have become a lot busier, but I'm still working to make sure I have time to write and update for you all. Vote, comment, share, and glam on!
