When Nagito and I made it home, I told my parents about his relationship with Sonia's parents. Immediately, they demanded he move in. They loved him and accepted him as their honorary son. It also helped that we were dating, so he truly was a part of the family.
It took a full week to clean out the junk in the spare room and officially move Nagito in. It was a small room, so only a dresser, a desk, and a twin sized bed fit. However, he still slept with me in my room every night. It was important for him to have his own room, though, so in case he needed some alone time, he had his own space. It was healthy for us to each have our own separate spaces. Though we moved half of our clothes into each other's dressers to make mornings easier.
When we first moved the bed into Nagito's room, I instantly thought we wouldn't get to sleep together anymore since he'd have his own space. Cuddling with Nagito every night was my favorite way to end the day. We'd switch it up where some nights he was the big spoon and other nights I was. I didn't want to give that up.
Instead, my parents sat us down and told us they loved us and trusted us. They knew we'd make smart and healthy decisions, and that it was up to us on whether we'd want to continue sleeping in the same bed. Not wanting to abuse that trust, we made sure to be responsible when we slept together.
After moving in, the two of us had disagreements and a few minor arguments, but they never escalated too badly. We listened to each other and talk out our problems so we'd always end the day still happy and still in love. We knew moving in together would start up some issues, but we refused to let them get to us.
Once our friends found out, they were all excited for us. Komaru and Kazuichi were both worried we were moving too fast, but after we explained how it was a similar scenario that Aoi and Sakura dealt with, they understood better.
Aoi was very kind and helpful throughout the situation. One night, they had us over for dinner. Sakura and I left Aoi and Nagito alone to talk about the shared experiences. When Aoi came out, her parents didn't accept her. Living at home felt like walking on eggshells all the time, so she moved in with Sakura's accepting family the moment she could.
It was nice for Nagito to have someone what he was going through, and I knew Sakura liked having someone in Aoi's life who understood where she came from. Sakura and I had very accepting parents who loved us and our partners, so we both understood what it felt like to have partners who weren't in the same boat as us. The two of us understood each other as well as Nagito and Aoi did.
The following evening, I walked up the stairs and knocked on Nagito's door. He called out for me to enter, and I smiled at him as he laid on his stomach, reading a book on his bed. He smiled back. "What's up?"
"Well, it's been a month since you've moved in, and I don't think we've gone out on a date since."
Nagito sat up on the bed. "Are you asking me out?"
I smirked and shrugged. "Would you like to?"
"I'd love to. What were you thinking?"
"I was thinking we could order from the food trucks and walk around?"
"Perfect."
"Great. I'll meet you downstairs in five minutes."
After Nagito separated himself from the Nevermind's, he had to give up his car. Every morning, Makoto offered to drive us both to school. Some days, my parents didn't mind me taking their car if they planned to drive to work together. Since mom went to a bar with her friends every Wednesday after work and my dad had book club on Tuesdays and wine club on Fridays, I could drive us to school on Mondays and Thursdays.
