Yang walked in an open field, feeling the grass beneath his feet with every step. The warm air enveloped him, soothing his mind with it's everlasting hospitality.
Looking to his right, he saw a silhouette. It was a great distance from him, far enough that he was unable to determine who it belonged to. Stepping closer, Yang saw that the silhouette didn't become any clearer. He began walking faster, trying to catch up to it, but nothing ever changed. He started running, trying desperately to catch the mysterious person in front of him. No matter how far he ran, the silhouette stayed the same distance from him. He ran until his feet bled, his entire body aching with fatigue. He collapsed, panting on the ground. Looking up one last time, he saw another person accompanying the silhouette. The person looked back at Yang, smirking. It was Yin. As he saw Yin's black eyes glow with selfish intent, Yang reached his hand out in a sad attempt to stop his brother. He felt the grass beneath him grow, wrapping around his limbs and piercing through his skin, restraining him from any hope of reaching them. Warm blood trickled down his body as the sharp blades of grass dug into his flesh. He struggled, screaming in pain and trying to break free.
Bolting up, Yang breathed heavily and looked around his room, his heart beating intensely in his chest. It was all a dream. He looked down at his hands, expecting to see scars from the grass, but nothing was there. He lay back down, letting out a sigh of relief. Cold sweat dripped down his face as he stared at the ceiling, thinking about what had just occurred. Why did he have that dream? He had never experienced such a terrible nightmare before. Sure, bad dreams were fairly common, but never had they felt so real, so vivid.
His mind still racing from the dream, Yang checked the time. 4am. He knew it was too early to wake up, so he decided to try falling asleep again.
The rest of the night was spent lying, awake, waiting for the next day to come.
He couldn't get his mind off of the silhouette. Why was he trying so desperately to catch it? Why did he feel so betrayed when he saw it with Yin? And why did Yin look at him like that? It was almost as if it was a warning, Yin's eyes piercing through Yang's soul.
