I moved as quickly as I could over to my car. Driving was unbelievably uncomfortable. Grace and Joey had been in a car accident. I stepped on the gas and raced to the hospital. “Where are they?”, I panted to the nurse. She looked at me like I was about to give birth. “Only immediate family members are allowed to visit”. I gave her a deadly stare. “I am immediate family”, I spat and left her. “Excuse me, miss, you can't go in there”, she shouted after me. I ignored the nurse and walked in.

Oh baby”, Tig whispered, holding Grace's hand. “Oh my god, Gracie”, he continued. She was hooked up to a machine, breathing for her. The steady beeps from the machines set the mood. Joey was sitting in a chair, hands together over his mouth like he was praying. His face was covered in cuts and bruises. Gemma and Jax were standing in the corner observing Tig as he cried over Grace. “Is she gonna wake up?”, I whispered to Jax and Gemma. Jax dragged his hand across his face, tugging on his lower lip. “We don't know”. Our focus was pulled over to Tig, who got up and marched over to Joey in full speed. With tears in his eyes, he pulled Joey up after his collar and hit him right across the face. “You stupid junkie piece of shit”, Tig shouted as he continued to batter Joey. Jax cut in, holding Tig back. I grabbed Joey's cut and dragged him with me.

You were high?”, I said, quietly, trying to avoid a scene. He looked at me, with shame in his eyes. I sighed in annoyance. A tear finally escaped his eye. “I didn't think it would make a difference”, he stuttered. “Now she's lying there, hooked up to all those machines, and it's all my fault”, he continued. I put my hand on his shoulder and turned my head, looking away from Joey.

I had never seen that side of Tig before. Seeing him cry did something to me. I couldn't possibly know how he felt, having his baby in a coma, not knowing if his daughter is going to wake up. I had some idea, but all I knew about my child was that it was a girl, and it had a heart beat.

Jax was sitting in bed, waiting for me to join him. I got undressed and Jax looked at me as I struggled to sit down. I met his eyes and I could tell that he wanted to laugh.

You better choke that laugh if you wanna live”; I commanded.

He tightened his mouth and looked away from me.

You did this to me, you bastard”, I spat as I lied down next to him.

He scooched over and rested his head on my belly. “You got a name in mind?”, Jax asked.

I ran my fingers through his hair. “Adrian or maybe Avery”, I said, almost a whisper.

Aren't those boys' names?”, he complained and sat up.

No, I mean- they're good for both boys and girls”, I said. He just sighed. “You'll get you chose between those two, considering I'm carrying the kid and all”. Jax looked at me and came to terms with my decision.

I'm gonna go to the hospital and see Grace”, I announced. Joey looked up at me and started to get up. “You should- you should stay here.. Tig might be here, and he's still..”, my words faded out. Joey rubbed his face to avoid my gaze.

I stopped at the florist to pick up some flowers. That's when I saw Mike, my stupid ex-boss. I payed the florist for the sunflowers and tried to hurry out of the shop. “Wow, you look extremely pregnant”, he shouted after me. I sighed and put a break to my walk. I turned around to face him. “Yeah, I am”, I replied. He laughed and reached for me, putting my hair behind my ear. I pulled away and gave him a look of disgust. “I really thought the MC would have gotten both you and your baby killed by now”, he chuckled. His big green eyes lit up. “Exactly who do you think you are? You need to leave me the fuck alone, you weirdo son of a bitch”, I said in a hushed voice and left.

Mike was getting creepier and creepier for each time I met him. I sat in the car a bit before I took off. He was a handsome guy, but he just gave me the fucking heebie jeebies. And he was rude as shit.

I entered Grace's hospital room, but no one was there. I put the flowers in a vase and filled it with water. The loud breathing from the machines were so depressing. I sat down next to her and held her hand. “You need to come back, Grace. Just wake up”. Her face had no make-up on, contrary to the big amounts she usually wore. Grace looked so sad. My throat grew a lump. I swallowed hard. “Just wake up”, I whispered. Tears ran down my face. Grace had opened up to me so many times, and I gave her nothing, just like I usually do.

Dad and Juice interrupted my thoughts. “Any news?”, Juice asked. I looked at Juice and back at Grace. “Nope, she's still in a coma”, I said. Dad was talking on the phone while Juice was talking to me, but I tuned him out. “Juice”, dad said, a little bit louder. He went over to dad and dad grabbed his shoulder and whispered. They didn't think I could hear what they were saying, but I did. “One of Luann's girls took a beating from this shit sack earlier.. We need to head up to Cara Cara”, dad whispered. Juice nodded and I caught dad's attention with a worried look on my face. He kissed me on the head. “Be careful”, I said. Dad smiled. “Always am”.

I headed up to Cara Cara out of curiosity and parked my car outside. Samcro's bikes were outside. I went in to find the guys talking to each other and a girl curled up on a couch with a blanket around her. Her face was beaten, bruises all over and a cut over her eyebrow. Moaning from the screens of Luann's editing studio flew around the building. “Yeah, baby! Give it to me”. I shook my head and shut out the grunting and groaning. Gemma was there. “What's going on?”, I asked. She pointed to the girl curled up on the couch. “This asshole, Caruso, is responsible for Lyla's deformed face”, Gemma said, keeping it down. Lyla was eyeballing Opie, observing his actions.

I sat down next to her, asking her if she was okay. “I'm Lyla”, she said.

Cassie.. I'm Jax's..”, I hated the words I was about to say, “Old lady...”, I said and rolled my eyes.

She chuckled.

That's Opie”, I told her and pointed to him.

Oh, I..”, she mumbled.

I could see you eyeing him, you know”.

She moved around nervously under her blanket. “Does he have an old lady?”, she asked.

I cleared my throat. “She died a couple of months ago”, I said quietly.

She muttered something, but I wasn't sure.

Jax stormed out of the building, dad right behind him, Bobby and Opie in their heels. I took a breath, I was about to say something to Jax, but the door slammed shut before I even got the chance..
