We get inside the small and cozy house. Billie guides me to one of the rooms in the house. She opens the door and inside is beautiful. I've never seen it with the lights on. She opens the door wide enough for me to step inside first. I step into the middle of the room and look around. I hear the sound of Billie closing the door behind us. I pause and look at the louis vuitton blanket that hung over her walls. The little things that I never stood here long enough to see are now catching my eyes all at once.
All of a sudden I feel a pair of hands snake across my waist, causing me to jump a little bit. I turn my head around slightly to be met with a pair of blue eyes staring me down to the core. I felt so weak but I didn't want her to see that. If she did, I know she would use it to her advantage. My thoughts were cut off when Billie spoke.
"What's on the end of that necklace" she said while gently sliding her finger across the chain. I automatically felt my heart drop when I remembered it was her ring. The ring that she doesn't know that I have.
I turned around to face her. Her body slightly towering over me. "Not anything that concerns you". I say before taking my book bag off my back, placing it down on the floor next to her bed. "So, shall we begin working on this project?"
For the next few hours, Billie showed me around her house. She took me into her backyard and we laughed at her dog Pepper, who was trying to chase a butterfly but she ended up falling and quitting. She was also trying so hard to sneak a peek at what was dangling on the other end of my chain. I don't understand why she was trying so hard. If she ever did I might be put away in a jail cell for a very long time.
I stood in front of the mirror in Billies room while admiring myself. I fixed my hair a little and adjusted my shirt. In the background of my reflection I see Billie sneaking, acting like I don't see her. Suddenly I feel my chain from around my neck slide upwards slowly. I place my hand on my chest, stopping the chain from moving any farther. I turn around to see Billie standing there in shock.
"You know, you're going to have to try harder than that if you want to see what's dangling on the other end of this chain." I say with a shit eating grin on my face. She's going to have to try real hard.
"I'm trying baby. You just make it so difficult. I mean I'm not used to getting turned down. If I want something I get it." she says while stepping closer, leaving her face inches away from mine. Her hand travels up my shoulder and to the back of my neck. She leans in and for a second I almost let my guard down. I reach up and place my hand on my chest, stopping the necklace once again. Leaving me to look at a defeated Billie
She groaned and stepped back as she threw her hands up in the air "Damn you're good. I can't get you to let your guard down for shit"
"I know. Nice attempt though, would've worked if i was attracted to you" I lie. She turns her head to look at me with her jaw dropped. "Close your mouth before a fly finds its way in t-"
"You're not attracted to me?" She cuts me off
"Nope, just not my cup of tea personally" I lied once again. She is definitely my type. She's anyone's type. She could pull anyone if she wanted. She tilted her head and stepped towards me again. She tilted my chin upwards and moved in closer. Her lips were only an inch away from mine, I had to stay focused on the task here.
"Are you sure about that?" she said. Her warm breath hitting my lips.
"Yup" I said with a smile. She let go of my chin and her hands dropped to the side of her. I stepped back and laughed a little at the sight of Billie being 100% defeated. It was adorable to see her try, and it felt amazing to know I had won.
