Chapter: 15

Jamison's P.O.V.

The next morning when I woke up I was still encased in Kai's arms, the memories from last night came rushing back and I knew my face was probably as red as my eyes. I snuggled closer to Kai and buried my face in his chest, I couldn't believe that we did that, I had never done anything like that with anyone before, I was a virgin and the farthest I had ever gone with someone was kissing!

I continued to snuggle with Kai and attempted to get rid of my embarrassment and calm myself down, from what I could tell he was still asleep, I closed my eyes and enjoyed his warm embrace, I had almost fallen asleep when there was a knock on the door.

"Jamison and Kai it is time to awaken, master Luis has requested your presence, he is in his study, I will give you ten minutes to get up and ready and then I will escort you there." Said one of the maids, (I'm guessing it was the same one from last night) Kai stirred and in turn that made me fully awake again, I tried to sit up but Kai pulled me back down. "Five more minutes." He mumbled burying his face in my neck, I chuckled he could be such a baby sometimes, I brushed his hair out of his eyes and just spent a few minutes gazing at him, I kissed him on the forehead and gently shook his shoulder.

"Kai it's time to get up, we have to go talk to Luis" I said, he groaned but cracked an eye open, "Do we really have to?" He asked in an almost childish tone, I couldn't help but smile. "Yes, we do. So it's time for you to get up." I answered.

I wiggled out of his grasp and heard him groan even louder, I couldn't help but laugh, I went over to the our duffel bag and pulled out one of my outfits, my toothbrush and toothpaste then headed to the bathroom that was connected to our room. I got changed, brushed my teeth and ran my finger through my hair to make me look somewhat presentable.

Once I got done I left the bathroom and was greeted to a pouting, already dressed Kai. "You got changed without me." He said grumpily, and I couldn't help but laugh at him again, god it should be illegal to be as adorable as he was right now.

"Awww look at Mr. grumpy pants over there." I said speaking in a high pitched baby voice, Kai glared at me but stood up walked over, hugged me and kissed me I scrunched up my nose "Ewwwwww you have morning breath!" I said squirming to get away but his grip wouldn't loosen this time he was the one laughing. Finally he let me go and went into the bathroom to brush his teeth, thank god, he needs it.

I waited for him to get done and as soon as he was there was another knock on the door, "Jamison and Kai are you awake?" Called out the maid, I opened the door and greeted her with a smile she did not return, "Good, please follow me." She briskly said turning and beginning to walk in the opposite direction, me and Kai followed after her.

She lead us down a few hallways and suddenly stopped in front of a pair of wooden french doors, she pulled them open and lead us inside, Luis was sitting at his desk and was reading through what appeared to be a very old book.

"Master I have brought them." She said, Luis' head snapped up, almost like he didn't even notice we had entered and he then dismissed the maid with a wave of his hand. "You two may sit down if you'd like." He said motioning with his head towards the two seats in front of his desk, I sat down and Kai decided to stand behind me.

Luis closed the book he was reading and clasped his hands together, "I didn't ever want to have to repeat this story but I think it's better if you both knew it now then finding out later." Luis stated, for the first time since I had met Luis he seemed nervous, which in turn made me nervous because he didn't seem like a man that would get upset very easily.

"Jamison, did Claire show you two the book of soulmates?" He asked, I nodded my head. "Well there's something you need to know, when a demon finds their mate, and their mate dies, so do they, the couple dies on the same day at usually the same time, that's how it's always been and always will be. That's why demon's are usually so protective of their soul mates and the longer a demon spends without their mate the crazier they get." Luis said his eyes searching my face for any sign of shock or confusion but there wasn't any until it dawned on me, why wasn't Lukas dead then?
