I sat in Alaric's office across from him. "You know why you're here, don't you?" He asked leaning back in his chair. "Let me guess...you have no friends so you wanna talk to me instead?" I asked. He furrowed his brows. "I...have friends. They're just..." He started. "Dead?" I finished. His mouth closed a bit. "Maybe. Possi— that's not why you're here!" He stated. "Then why am I here?" I asked. "Our school and the students...have been chosen to merge and attend another." He explained. "What?" I asked. "Hogwarts has asked Caroline and I if we could merge with their school." He voiced. "What the hell would a school for wizards want to do with a school with the supernatural?" I asked. "They aren't that different from us, Henri. Wizards are supernatural just like witches...only you know...they...use wands. Anyway, the point is...they want to merge with our school. And take in supernatural students from ours to allow an extra..." He explained as I squinted my eyes. "They need protection...don't they?" I asked. "What?" He asked.
"Oh come on. Isn't it obvious? They don't want their students getting hurt so they want to have some last line of defense as a way to let them get somewhere safe while we, the supernatural species that actually does magic without bloody wands, fight off whatever the bloody hell is knocking at hell's door." I rambled rising to my feet. "That's...a weird way of looking at it, but all right." He stated. "Why are you telling me and not the rest of the school?" He asked. "Because...they specifically want Hope—" He said. "Of course they do. They always do. It's always Hope. Let the queen have her shine in the spotlight of yet, another damn school. But only her, BECAUSE NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE ABOUT WHAT I THINK!" I spat slamming my fist on the table making the lights blow out and books fly off the shelves. "Are you okay?" He asked quietly. "I'm fine." I snarled. "Are you sure? Because...it doesn't seem like it." He pointed out. "I said, "I'm. Fine."" I growled again. "This is about Hope isn't it?" He asked. "When is it not? It's never not about Hope." I spat. "You feel you've become inferior to your sister ever since she became the Tribrid, don't you?" He questioned.
"What the hell is this? Some sort of therapy session?" He asked furrowing my brows. "I'm just asking because the boy sitting across from me right now isn't the same boy from 5 months ago." He explained. "So what? People change." I snapped. "Exactly. People do change. It's when we don't accept those changes when problems are created." He stated. "What? You think this is my fault? My feelings and emotions towards my sister that have befallen me ever since she became "Ms. I'm-So-Much-Better-Than-Everybody-Else-And-No-One-Can-Tell-Me-Different."" I growled.
"So, maybe next time instead of dragging me here for some off-the-hand therapy session, why don't you learn how to bloody handle rebellious teenagers that are martyrs! And perhaps we wouldn't be having this conversation right now." I snapped getting up and heading to the door. "What about Hogwarts?" He called out. "What difference does it bloody make?! I don't have a choice in the matter, do I?!" I shouted before the building rumbled a bit as I stood in the middle of the cramped hallway filled with students.
They all stared at me with wide-eyes. "Stare any longer, I'll remove your eyes." I growled before the lights above me rapidly flickered and went out. The time the lights came back on I was gone.
