Kendra in the MM...

Skylar

The sunlight shining from my bedroom window hit my face causing me to stir in my sleep. I used my arm to cover my eyes. It was Saturday and I had no plans of getting out of this bed early.

"You're awake!" Kendra squealed, jumping in my bed. I groaned, putting a pillow over my head. "Kendra, why are you in my apartment?"

"Because you have food and better cable," she answered honestly. I chuckled, removing the pillow. "We have the same cable."

"Well, yours show better."

"Buy you a new tv then."

She dramatically placed her hand over her heart and gasped. "Kendra Collins is not made of money like you."

I straight faced her, throwing the covers back. I stood up and stretched, before walking to the bathroom.

"Look at there. Slim fine," Kendra laughed, laying across my bed. I laughed, brushing my teeth. She was just... Hell she's Kendra.

"I'm tryna get like you," I teased, wiping my mouth. I flashed the mirror a smile. "You are beautiful," I mumbled.

"Of course you are babe. Every gorgeous light-skinned has a beautiful dark-skinned best friend."

I fiddled with the end of my hair, twirling it around my finger. I tell myself I'm beautiful every morning and every night but I don't feel beautiful. I smiled at my Bestfriend. "That's why I love you."

"Come on, let's go have a girls day. These toes need work," she frowned, looking at her feet. I laughed, looking at my own feet. "Good idea."

"Okay. I'm a go change." She ran out my apartment to hers across the hall or so I thought. "Sky!!!!"

I slipped into a pair of jeans with holes in the knee area. "You changed your mind?" I laughed, turning around. She stood in my doorway smiling, holding a dozen of pinky lilies. They were beautiful and my absolute favorite flower.

"Oooowwww, which one of you stud muffins sent you those?" I cooed.

"Uh, these were at your doorstep. My bitches know better."

"My door?" I frowned, looking at her sideways. She pulled the card from the middle and opened it. "Who's Chase?"

I snapped the card from her hand and read it. "Well excuse me rudeness."

Last night you said these are your favorite. What better way to say thank you? =) -Chase

I smiled, tapping the card against my palm. "So are you gon tell me who Chase is?" I looked at Kendra to see her standing there with her hand on her hip.

"Just someone I work with."

"Mmhmm. What is he thanking you for?"

"Kendra chill. I bought him a drink for waiting with me last night." He face softened and she actually smiled.

"Wayment? That's the guy? Oooww. You never told me yall went out afterwards. How was it? Are you gonna see him outside of work again?"

I grabbed my purse and keys, heading out the door. I was in no way going to play 21 questions with Kendra. I heard her footsteps behind me as I walked to the car.

"I thought you were gonna go change?"

"Nah, this my Ms. Steal yo Girl shirt," she bragged, running her hands down the front of it. I hit the unlock button and hopped in the passenger seat while Kendra took over the driver's.
