Leave inline comments... I like those. Lmao. I want to thank those of you who actually read and comment on this story. I know it isn't a fan fiction but writing is something I love and with me trying to break out, I cant always write Aug stories.

Oh and I changed the cover and main character because Theo James is Ohhh my gawd! Anyway, I'm rambling. Enjoy and excuse all mistakes.

"All I'm saying is......." Kendra trailed off, looking behind me. I waved my hand in her face. "Yo, what are you looking at?" I asked.

"Some guy staring over here. But what was I saying?...oh. You shouldn't let what TK did to you keep you from being unhappy. I think you should ask Chase out?"

I looked at her like she had four heads. "Nooooo. I will not. The guy is supposed to ask the girl."

"Hun, it's 2015. Get over it. You should invite him to the kickback tonight."

"I would but I don't have his number."

She stopped eating and looked at me. "You don't have his number? How does he know where you stay but you don't have his number?" The waitress came by giving us the check. I held my hand out but she looked at Kendra and handed it to her.

"Uh, she's the one paying," Kendra said, pointing at me. The waitress set the slip on the table and turned to walk out.

"Uh, ma'am?" Kendra called after her and she came back over. "Yes?"

She smiling in a chuckle. "Yes, um. You put the check on the table and clearly my friend's hand was out. So if you would, pick it up and place it in her hand like she's human, that would be wonderful." She picked it up and gave it to me directly and walked off.

"Kendra," I said in a stern tone.

"Don't Kendra me. That was rude. She was so eagerly to give it to me but not hand it to you? Tuhh. Please don't make Kendra from Harlem come out."

I shook my head, pulling my wallet out. I grabbed the bill and we headed to the front to check out.

"Your bill was already paid," the guy said, handing me my card back. Kendra looked at me and I shrugged. "Does it say by who?"

"Uh, yeah Mr. LaCore. He's a regular here. You just missed him." He pointed toward the door. I slid my card back in my purse and rushed out the door to see if I could catch him but the car drove off.

Well I guess I'll catch him next time.

"Now you have to go out with him," Kendra came up behind me. "I know..."

"Gimme some love. I gotta get to work." She hugged me bye as she walked down the sidewalk to her boutique that she opened last year. I'm proud of my baby. She's doing big things."

"128 please," I said to valet, giving him my ticket.

"Enjoy your lunch?" Chase voice rang in my ear as he stepped beside me. A smile creeped across my face. "I did. Thank you for paying and thanks for the flowers. They were beautiful."

"A beautiful woman deserves beautiful flowers," he smirked and I could feel my face getting hot. What was he doing to me.

"So, uh. I know this is probably out of your element but my Bestfriend is having a kickback at her apartment and uh, I want to invite you."

He stroked his hand along his jawline.

"It's a bunch of 21 and 22 year olds so I'll understand if you do-"

He shook his head, laughing. "I'm just 27 dang. You calling me old Ms. Williams?"

"Not at all. I ju-"

"What time should I be at this here, kickback, as you young folks call it?" He joked, sounding like somebody's grandparent.

"You can meet me at my apartment around seven ish."

"Cool. It's a dat- I mean I'll see you at seven."

I nodded, tipping the valet and getting in my car. I waved bye as I pulled off. I was going home to figure out what to wear for tonight. I had to make sure my outfit was right for tonight.

Chase

"Chase who was that girl you were talking to?" My mother asked as soon as I got in the car. My dad had to go to some meeting so I told him I'd take her home.

"Skylar Williams. She's the new girl at work."

"Oh, that's the young lady who Amy works for?"

"Yes, that is her."

"She's gorgeous."

"That she is."

"And you like her."

I glanced over at her then back at the road. "Amy told you that?"

"No sir. Even a blind man could see you're interested in her. You kept staring at her in the restaurant." She smirked, looking out the window.

"Mother. Can we not have this conversation?" I pulled into the driveway letting her out.

She shrugged. "What? I mean no one likes black coffee, son. Sometimes, it just needs a splash of cream."

I choked, catching myself from laughing. This woman was just too much for me. I pointed toward the house. "Go inside mother."

She laughed, kissing my cheek. "Fine. But she's welcome to dinner anytime." She got out and I made sure she was inside before pulling off. I called Jamison.

"You missed me already?" He answered.

"Chill out. Be ready around six. We're going to a kickback."

Skylar

I danced around in my room to the tune of Maybe by Teyana Taylor. I had just re twisted my hair and was now laying out my outfit for tonight when my phone rang. I smiled wildly seeing that it was my grandma.

"Hi Granny!" I answered excitedly. She laughed thru the phone.

"Well someone is excited to hear from me."

"Of course. How are you? How is Granddad?"

"Chile, you know he in that darn garage still. I'm fine just calling to check on you. How's my favorite granddaughter."

"I'm fine. Sorry I haven't called. I got the new job and its been crazy just altogether."

"Ohhh. I forgot about that. Im glad you got it. You know me and your granddad have always been proud of you," she cooed.

"Yeah, you two were the only ones," I mumbled, looking at my freshly manicured nails.

"Oh Skylar," she sighed. "I'm okay granny. I gotta finish getting ready. I'm going to a kickback."

"The hell is a kickback?" She asked, confusion in her voice. I fell back on the bed laughing. "A kickback? It's like a small party granny."

She burst out laughing at her own self. "Oh, chile you gotta let an old woman know."

"Alright old woman, I gotta go. I'll call you sometime next week. Love you."

"I love you more." We hung up and I looked at the time. 6:15 pm. I told Chase to meet me here around seven so I decided I should get up and shower. I don't want to keep him waiting.

I put my shower cap on to keep my hair from getting wet. Tonight was going to be chill. My friends, alcohol and intelligent minds. Let the night begin.
