Accidentals
Accidentals are notations in music which musicians use to raise or lower a natural pitch.( On the piano, guitar or mostly musical staffs).

Sharp ( #): A sharp is used to raise a note higher by an half step. It increases the value of a note by a semitone. It is also used to raise any note one half step or one fret.

Flat ( b ): A flat does exactly the opposite of a sharp. It is used to drop a note lower by an half step. It decreases the value of a note by a semitone . it is also used to lower any note one half step or one fret.

Naturals ( ): A natural cancels out an already established sharp or flat.

Half step and whole step:
There are two types of musical intervals:
i. Half step ( semi tone)
ii. Whole step ( tone)

1. An half step is the smallest interval in music. It is a movement from one fret to another, from one starting point. It is also called a semi tone.

2. An whole step is an interval consisting of two half steps. It is a movement of two frets, from one starting point.

Finger exercises

These finger exercises are designed to build coordination between your right and left hand . Proper picking and fingering hand
coordination is very important achieve to good controlled guitar playing.
Directions : Play each finger pattern on each string .Start on the first string ,the the second,third,etc...Although a little difficult at first,these exercises quickly build the motor skill control needed to play the guitar effectively .Practice with an even,
steady rhythm .The goal is control ,not speed.
