He speeds out across the island, stopping when he sees Kwazii dozing in the gup B. He's asleep, the key is sitting in the ignition like he was about to leave but decided to rest.

Peso descends quickly, waving his hands through Kwazii's head.

"UGH!" Kwazii wakes up. "Place gives me the creeps." He says, shaking to rid himself of the constant goosebumps. He yawns before turning the key and speeding off.

Peso sits quietly behind him, watching as Kwazii sings along to the radio. He jolts, diving under the water as he hears the roar of a speedboat. The purr of the gup B quiet enough that he can listen for it.

"WHAT!" he shouts to no one, "I GAVE THEM PESO!"

He screams when he says the name, seeing Peso sitting behind him in the back seat. Peso disappears as soon as the word stops in his mouth.

"PESO?!" he shouts, his foot is lead on the throttle. Peso flickers into visible reality every time Kwazii says his name.

"You can see me?" his whispery voice is confused.

"Peso?" Kwazii gasps as he sees the ghostly form again.

"KWAZII YOU CAN SEE ME!" Peso screeches, his voice would have been exited, but in this new version of himself, it sounds terrifying.

The inhuman shriek shocks Kwazii, none of the excitement intended by the words passes across the barrier.

"Peso, I can see you." Kwazii seems overjoyed, but a layer of guilt and terror hides behind the expression.

"Kwazii you need to run from Nathan. He wants to kill you." Peso grins at him, his face warming. A few shades of colour returning.

"I know. I have a place." Kwazii beams, this time he seems legitimately happy.

Kwazii pulls the controls, using them to dive downwards. He turns off the lights, gliding silently through the water with utmost control.

The sound of the chasing boat fades.

The rest of the ride is silent, peaceful.

The gup slows, parking at a crystal watered dock. He pulls up straight next to the jetty. The gup will be impounded as soon as it's found.

Peso goes to float through the glass, but he bumps into it. What? He looks down. His hands are solid.

"Come on, Peso." Kwazii calls, opening the hatch.

He holds out his hand, offering to help. Peso accepts. He doesn't let go. Kwazii runs down the street, no one giving a second glance to an extremely pale man and another with one eye.

The road is hot on their bare feet as Kwazii pelts around the corner, pulling Peso along.

"Right here." Kwazii pants, stepping onto a porch and grabbing a key from under a dead pot-plant. He unlocks the door, stepping out of the heat. "Home." He turns, smiling at Peso.

"Where do I go from here?"

"I think you should stay." Kwazii whispers, pulling Peso towards him. "Turns out you aren't so bad."

Kwazii's neck bends to look peso in the eye. He breathes onto Peso's face. Peso stares back into the forest green of Kwazii's eye.

"You aren't invisible anymore, Peso."

"I know." Peso breathes, grabbing the knife from Kwazii's belt. "I'm sorry." He plunges the blade into Kwazii's stomach.

Kwazii wheezes, stumbling backwards. Peso catches him, pulling him up as Kwazii's chest constricts. Peso smells the tang of blood from Kwazii's mouth when laying him down.

"Why?" Kwazii gasps; rage and sadness on his face.

"Thanks for bringing me back." Peso grins, "Goodbye."

Peso hooks his fingers into Kwazii's fringe, lifting his head from the floor. He slams the back of Kwazii's head to the cold tiling, repeating the violent movement until the deafening sound of a heartbeat stops.

Peso, done with his work, stands up. Glancing down, he realizes he's no longer as solid as the moment before.

"But I was BACK!" he yells, tearing at his fading body. "NO!"

Peso opens his eyes wide, reddish black shapes rise from the floor. They grab his arms, tugging him down. "HELP!" he calls, screaming at the top of his lungs.

Black envelops his vision, spinning in dark circles across his line of sight.

He can't move.

He can't breathe.

He can't see.

He can't hear.

He can't feel.

WHERE AM I?

His thoughts are loud against the silence.

HELP ME.

HELP ME.

HELP ME!

A deafening sound burns in his ears, the scent of smoke burns like fire in his nostrils.

NO.
