Robbie went back to his life.
After the weird hug that he had with his brother, he set his emotions to dead again. He can't let anyone see any emotions he were to have. Robbie was born and set to know that. He was annoyed with himself to even let his guard down for a second.
"Robbie-?" Tommy said, seeing the obvious change in his brother.
"Don't ever try to find me again. You're not my brother. The G.I.T. are."
Robbie saw the hurt look in his face. He remembered how he used to be with his brother. They were best friends. He wanted to become back to that, but there was no longer any choice. It's been twelve years. He's not the same boy he was who ran around his mothers garden.
He turned around and moved through the forest, refusing to look back. If he did, who knows what he would do. Who knows.
On the way back, he found a deer. Robbie didn't hesitate this time. He brought his arm up swiftly and shot the damned thing. As it fell to the floor, he felt the emotions slip further away.
He hauls the carcass back home. Everyone rejoices and Johnson looks at him with the kind of admiration that a father would give. The G.I.T. is his family now.
Ric ends up getting nothing, and Robbie ends up taunting him to the point of Ric trying to punch him. He misses, though, and Robbie twists his arm until he hears a crack. And then he keeps on punching him, and punching him, until Josh and a few other guys pull him off.
Nothing. He felt nothing.
It was a damned mess. He knew this. It was his brother that sparked this anger. The anger that comes and goes in Robbie that makes him unrecognizable.
Johnson pushes him into his room. "You're being an ass, Rob. You don't turn on your family."
That only made the fire in him grow. Family? He spat, "What would I know about family?"
His leader tilts his head to look at the younger boy in confusion. "What is this about?"
"Nothing!" Robbie snaps. "Leave me alone, dammit!"
Johnson obviously wants to say something, but he's a smart man. He knows when someone needs their space, and it was clear to him that this boy needed it. So the old man nods at him, then backs out of the room. The door closes softly behind him.
Right after he's gone, Robbie stands. He pulls onto his hair and paces the room, trying to take this all in.
Twelve years ago, his parents were murdered. Twelve years ago, he was abducted. Twelve years ago, Tommy thought his entire family was murdered.
Twelve years ago, Robbie began to be taught how to become a murderer.
Everything he's ever known was a lie.
He stops moving. They G.I.T. is very lenient on letting you go wherever you want, but Robbie knows that if he leaves, they will question him.
So, he pushes open the window. It's two stories off the ground. Right now, in his current state, he couldn't even think of hesitating. He jumps off the ledge right away.
His ankles burn for a few seconds. Robbie doesn't notice the pain as he moves back to the woods he just left from. He still hopes no one saw him leave. Someone might eventually follow him, and then they'll see there's emotions of the dead eyed boy. There's no way he can let people see that.
He maneuvers through the woods until he finds the spot where he was before. Tommy is no longer there.
"God dammit!" The boy screams, slamming his already raw fist on the closest tree.
Right above his fist, something sticks out.
A piece of paper is placed on the tree.
313 NW. t.
The T means it's from his brother. And the degrees? It must be where he is.
The G.I.T. taught how to now North from South and East from West at a young age. Since his home is from the south, he just had to tilt a little and move just as he was before.
After what feels like forever, he finally reaches a small cottage. Once he gets there, seeing the house that his brother grew up in- normal, homely- he almost throws up. He almost turns around.
But, Tommy is on the porch. He sees his brother and stands up quickly. "I knew you would come."
"Not so fast." Robbie snaps, before he can come any closer. "You have to explain everything to me."
His brother ignores him, taking Robbie in. The bloody fist, the bloody clothes, and the angered look on his face. "You look like a mess." Tommy blatantly says. "What happened to you?"
"I punched both a man and a tree. In that order."
Tommy looks at him with concern in his eyes, shaking his head. "Robbie...."
"You think I'm still that little boy cowering in the back of a secret room." He says quickly. "You're wrong."
"Clearly."
They both are quiet for a few seconds. Robbie still doesn't know what he hoped to gain from coming here. Answers? They could be earned just as easily with Johnson.
Maybe he just wanted his brother back.
"Come inside." Tommy orders. "I'll clean you up."
Robbie almost says no, but for some reason he doesn't.
If he closes his eyes, he can imagine that he was never in the G.I.T. That after the raid, after their parents were killed, they were both taken with Will. They grew up together. Robbie wasn't a killer, he would be just as humble as his brother was.
But, the circumstances aren't like that.
Robbie has the burning anger to murder anyone who makes him mad. You can't just un-learn something like that. Not even his brother can help him from this.
Yet, knowing all of this, he still follows his long lost brother into his home.
